The Stage is Set: What Makes ROH Wrestling Live Special?
ROH has always been a breeding ground for some of the most talented wrestlers in the world. From CM Punk to Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe to Adam Cole, the promotion has consistently proven that it’s not just about flashy entrances and over-the-top theatrics—it’s about the in-ring action, the storytelling, and the passion that fuels every match.
The April 3 event is no exception. With a card stacked with dream matches, bitter rivalries, and championship showdowns, this is shaping up to be one of the most memorable nights in ROH history. And the best part? You can experience it all live online, no matter where you are in the world.
The Main Event: A Clash of Titans
At the heart of every great wrestling event is a main event that leaves fans on the edge of their seats. For ROH Wrestling Live on April 3, the main event is nothing short of spectacular.
ROH World Championship Match
Defending Champion: “The Apex Predator” Alex Kane vs. Challenger: “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson
Alex Kane has been a dominant force in ROH, holding the World Championship for over 300 days. His technical prowess, combined with his ruthless aggression, has made him one of the most feared champions in recent memory. But standing in his way is none other than Bryan Danielson, a legend of the sport and a man who needs no introduction.
Danielson’s return to ROH has been met with overwhelming excitement from fans. Known for his unparalleled in-ring ability and his ability to tell a story through wrestling, Danielson is determined to reclaim the title he once held dear. This is more than just a match—it’s a battle for legacy, for pride, and for the soul of ROH.
What to Expect: A technical masterpiece that will push both men to their limits. Expect submission holds, high-impact maneuvers, and a finish that will have everyone talking.
The Co-Main Event: A Grudge Match Years in the Making
ROH World Tag Team Championship Match
Defending Champions: The Briscoe Brothers (Mark & Jay Briscoe) vs. Challengers: FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler)
The Briscoe Brothers and FTR have a history that dates back years, filled with brutal matches, mutual respect, and an undeniable chemistry that makes every encounter unforgettable. This time, the ROH World Tag Team Championships are on the line, and neither team is willing to back down.
The Briscoes, with their hard-hitting, no-nonsense style, have proven time and time again why they’re one of the greatest tag teams of all time. But FTR, often referred to as the “best tag team in the world,” are determined to add another championship to their already impressive resume.
What to Expect: A hard-hitting, old-school tag team match that will leave both teams battered and bruised. This is tag team wrestling at its finest.
The Rising Stars: Future Legends in the Making
While the main and co-main events are sure to steal the show, the undercard is packed with matches that showcase the future of ROH. These are the matches where new stars are born, and legends begin their ascent.
ROH Pure Championship Match
Defending Champion: Wheeler Yuta vs. Challenger: Lee Moriarty
Wheeler Yuta has been a revelation in ROH, embodying the spirit of the Pure Championship with his technical expertise and unrelenting determination. But Lee Moriarty, known as “The Apex of Combat,” is a rising star who has been turning heads with his innovative offense and undeniable charisma.
What to Expect: A technical showcase that will appeal to purists and casual fans alike. This is wrestling in its purest form.
Women’s Division Showcase
Athena vs. Mercedes Martinez
The women of ROH have been stealing the show for years, and this match is no exception. Athena, the reigning ROH Women’s World Champion, is set to defend her title against the veteran Mercedes Martinez. With both women known for their hard-hitting styles and never-say-die attitudes, this is a match that could easily steal the show.
What to Expect: A brutal, physical contest that will highlight the best of women’s wrestling.
The Wildcards: Expect the Unexpected
One of the things that makes ROH so special is its ability to surprise fans. Whether it’s a shocking return, an unexpected debut, or a twist in the storyline, ROH always keeps fans guessing.
On April 3, there are rumors swirling about a potential surprise appearance by a former ROH legend. Could it be CM Punk? Samoa Joe? Or perhaps someone completely unexpected? Whatever happens, one thing is certain: you won’t want to look away.

What match are you most excited about? Who do you think will walk out victorious? Let us know in the comments below!
Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight

Really don’t like that it’s the Women’s NXT North American Championship. Besides being an awkward mouthful, it’s too derivative of Men’s midcard title.
