WWE NXT 8/29/23: The Creed Brothers Earn Their Way Back, Kiana James Becomes #1 Contender
The Creed Brothers put on a dominant performance in a Steel Cage Match to earn their way back to the NXT roster, while Kiana James became the new #1 contender to the NXT Women’s Championship in a chaotic Fatal 4-Way match.
The Creed Brothers faced off against The Dyad (Rip Fowler and Channing Decker) in a Steel Cage Match. The Dyad had been terrorizing the NXT roster for weeks, and they were looking to make a statement against the Creed Brothers.
The match started off with the Creed Brothers taking control, but The Dyad quickly turned the tables and started to dominate. The Creed Brothers were able to fight back, and they eventually put The Dyad away with their stereo falling lariats.
With the win, the Creed Brothers earned their way back to the NXT roster. They had been suspended for attacking NXT General Manager William Regal, but they were now cleared to compete.
The main event of the night was a Fatal 4-Way match to determine the new #1 contender to the NXT Women’s Championship. The match featured Roxanne Perez, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne, and Kiana James.
The match was a wild affair, with all four women giving it their all. Perez and Dolin started off the match by going back and forth, but Jayne and James eventually joined the fray.
The match went back and forth, with each woman getting her fair share of offense. In the end, it was James who came out on top, defeating Dolin with a Codebreaker to become the new #1 contender.
James is now one step closer to challenging Tiffany Stratton for the NXT Women’s Championship. Stratton has been dominant since winning the title, but James is a rising star who is not afraid to take on any challenge.
The rest of the card featured some other exciting matches. Joe Coffey defeated Nathan Frazer in a hard-fought match, and Butch defeated Charlie Dempsey in the first round of the NXT Global Heritage Invitational.
Overall, it was a great night of action on NXT. The Creed Brothers made their triumphant return, Kiana James became the new #1 contender, and there were some other exciting matches. Be sure to tune in next week to see what happens next on NXT!
