AEW Rampage 9/1/23 Results: Dark Order Earns ROH Title Shot, Hangman Page Defeats Bryan Keith

The September 1, 2023 episode of AEW Rampage was a stacked card, with several matches that had major implications for the upcoming All Out pay-per-view. In the main event, Hangman Adam Page defeated Bryan Keith, while Dark Order won a Tag Team Battle Royal to earn a shot at the ROH World Tag Team Championship.

The show kicked off with a Tag Team Battle Royal to determine the number one contenders for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. The match featured 12 teams, including the current champions, Adam Cole and MJF. In the end, it was Dark Order (Alex Reynolds and John Silver) who emerged victorious, eliminating Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis) to earn their title shot.

After the match, Aussie Open attacked Chris Jericho at the commentary table, but Sammy Guevara came to the rescue with Floyd the bat. This led to a brawl between the two teams, which was eventually broken up by security.

Next up, Mike Santana made his return to AEW, facing Nick Wayne and El Hijo del Vikingo. Santana gave a good account of himself, but in the end, it was Wayne and Vikingo who picked up the victory.

In the penultimate match of the night, Hangman Adam Page faced Bryan Keith. Page was looking to get back on track after losing to CM Punk at Forbidden Door, and he did just that, defeating Keith with a Buckshot Lariat.

The show closed with a women’s tag team match, pitting Willow Nightingale and Skye Blue against Anna Jay and Taya Valkyrie. Nightingale and Blue picked up the win, with Nightingale pinning Jay after a Code Blue.

Overall, it was a great episode of AEW Rampage, with several matches that had major implications for All Out. The Dark Order’s victory in the Tag Team Battle Royal sets up a huge match with Cole and MJF for the ROH World Tag Team Championship, while Hangman Page’s win over Keith should give him a lot of momentum heading into his match with Punk at All Out.

Here are some of the key takeaways from the show:

  • Dark Order earns ROH title shot: Dark Order’s victory in the Tag Team Battle Royal is a huge win for the group. They have been one of the most popular factions in AEW since their debut, and they have been deserving of a shot at the ROH World Tag Team Championship for some time. This match is sure to be a lot of fun, and it could be a big moment for Dark Order.
  • Hangman Page gets back on track: Hangman Page’s win over Bryan Keith was a much-needed victory for the former AEW World Champion. He had been struggling a bit since losing the title to CM Punk at Forbidden Door, but this win should give him a lot of momentum heading into his match with Punk at All Out.
  • Women’s tag team match sets up future feuds: The women’s tag team match between Willow Nightingale and Skye Blue against Anna Jay and Taya Valkyrie was a good match that set up some potential future feuds. Nightingale and Blue are two of the most promising young stars in AEW, and they could be a force to be reckoned with in the women’s tag team division. Jay and Valkyrie are also two talented wrestlers, and they could be involved in some great matches in the future.

Overall, it was a great episode of AEW Rampage, and it set the stage for some exciting matches at All Out. I’m looking forward to seeing how these feuds play out in the weeks to come.
