DID YOU ENJOY IMPACT WRESTLING ON AUGUST 17 2023?

Extremely good episode,

August 18, 2023

Again the biggest weakness of Impact is lack of big names and star power. Crowd seemed very into it even with it likely being the last match of the taping, I personally think these 2 week tapings work better Than 4 Week tapings as the crowd stays in the mood

David

Really great episode.

The Knockouts and that TT match was thrilling. That Crazzzy Steve segment tho. Fuck. I was left utterly speechless and wanted to give him a hug.

Impact has been knocking these sit down interview segments out of the park.

Michael

ME was good. Moose/Knight was great. Knight continues to impress. Kon’s still their worst wrestler.

Opener was good. KO title feud is colder than it should be. I hope next week’s show has a strong go home segment. Why is looking at a monitor for 10 seconds the only thing Trinity did the past 2 shows? She’s their hottest act and is defending a title in a PPV ME next week.

Why’d Shelley & Josh twiddle their thumbs for 3 weeks while Bully feuded with Taurus & PCO? Can’t PCO’s stuff wait until after the PPV and the 8-man’s focus be on Shelley, who defends the World Title in a PPV ME in 3 days and potentially again next week, and Josh instead of them doing nothing in-ring the past 3 shows, only getting a 90 second promo 2 weeks ago, a 10 second cameo last week and Shelley getting a cameo tonight? Shelley, Josh and their potential title feud were hot after Slammiversary. Now they’re cold because they’re supporting characters in a story where they should be the focus. They squandered Josh’s big, surprise return. Shelley’s the World Champ and a great promo. Why’d he get no promos this month on his PPV title defense on Sunday, his PPV semi-main event in 9 days or any of his supposed rivals?

Slammiversary’s buy rate and recent ratings were up and their response was to minimize the men’s & women’s world champs the past 2-3 shows. Coincidentally, their highest ratings in over a year was 3 weeks ago when both champs got matches and big angles advertised in advance and were roughly 20% lower last week when the top champs did nothing, a week after one did nothing and the other did little.

John

Moose vs Knight just straight up fucking ruled, plain and simple.

August 18, 2023

I don’t get the two main champions not even barely having any screen time the past few weeks. But I trust Impact for what they are gonna do with the stuff.

Also fuck, that Crazzy Steve thing just hurts.

Robert

Good show all round.
