Dark Side of the Ring Season 6 Episode 1 Live Premiere: A Shocking Return to the Shadows
March 25, 2025
The wait is finally over. After months of speculation, cryptic teasers, and fan theories running wild, Dark Side of the Ring makes its triumphant return with Season 6, Episode 1, premiering live on March 25, 2025. The groundbreaking documentary series that peels back the curtain on professional wrestling’s most controversial, tragic, and untold stories is back—and if the trailers are any indication, this season will be its most explosive yet.
For years, Dark Side of the Ring has captivated audiences with its unflinching look at the industry’s darkest moments. From the tragic downfall of legends like Bruiser Brody and Chris Benoit to the twisted sagas of Vince McMahon’s controversies and the infamous Plane Ride from Hell, the series has never shied away from the truth. Now, as Season 6 kicks off, fans are bracing themselves for another deep dive into wrestling’s most haunting secrets.
What to Expect in Season 6, Episode 1
While Vice TV has kept most details tightly under wraps, insider reports and teasers have given us some clues about the premiere episode’s focus. Here’s what we know—and what we think we know—about the first installment of Dark Side of the Ring’s sixth season.
1. The Mysterious Case of a Fallen Legend
Rumors suggest that the season opener will center on one of wrestling’s most enigmatic and tragic figures. Names like The Ultimate Warrior (and the controversies surrounding his final days), Sensational Sherri’s turbulent life, or even the untold story of Owen Hart’s WWE exit pre-Montreal have been floating around. Given the show’s history of tackling unresolved mysteries, this episode could finally shed light on a story that has been buried for decades.
2. A Shocking New Revelations About a Modern Scandal
Dark Side of the Ring doesn’t just focus on the past—it also examines recent controversies that the wrestling world is still grappling with. Could Episode 1 tackle Vince McMahon’s 2024 legal battles? Or perhaps the backstage fallout from AEW’s recent backstage scandals? The producers have a knack for timing their releases to coincide with real-world developments, so expect something timely and explosive.
3. Never-Before-Seen Footage and Interviews
One of the hallmarks of Dark Side of the Ring is its access to rare archival footage and candid interviews with those who were there. The premiere is expected to feature newly uncovered tapes, shocking confessions from former wrestlers, and perspectives from family members who have stayed silent until now. If past episodes are any indication, some of these revelations could change how we view certain events forever.
Why This Season Could Be the Darkest Yet
Every season of Dark Side of the Ring has pushed boundaries, but Season 6 appears to be going even further. Here’s why:
- More Modern Stories: While earlier seasons focused heavily on the ’80s and ’90s, recent installments have started covering post-2000 controversies. With the wrestling landscape more exposed than ever (thanks to social media and the #SpeakingOut movement), this season may delve into scandals that are still fresh in fans’ minds.
- Legal and Ethical Lines: The show has faced criticism in the past for how it handles sensitive topics, particularly when it comes to victims’ families. Will Season 6 cross any new ethical boundaries? Or will it strike a better balance between storytelling and respect?
- Unfinished Business: Some stories, like the death of Gorgeous Gino Hernandez or the true extent of the WWF’s steroid trials, have only been partially explored. Could Episode 1 finally give these mysteries the closure they deserve?
Fan Theories and Predictions
The Dark Side of the Ring community is buzzing with speculation. Here are some of the most popular theories about the Season 6 premiere:
Theory #1: The Final Days of Eddie Guerrero
Eddie Guerrero’s death in 2005 shocked the world, but questions still linger about the pressures he faced in WWE, his struggles with addiction, and whether more could have been done to help him. A deep dive into his last months would be heartbreaking but necessary.
Theory #2: The Rise and Fall of ECW’s Most Controversial Stars
ECW was a lawless land of extreme violence and backstage chaos. Figures like New Jack, Raven, and Sabu have had their demons well-documented, but what about the stories that never made it to the mainstream? The dark side of ECW’s legacy could fill an entire season.
Theory #3: The Truth Behind the Benoit Family Tragedy
The Chris Benoit case has been covered before, but with new documentaries and books emerging, could Dark Side of the Ring revisit it with fresh interviews or uncovered evidence?
Final Thoughts: Why You Can’t Miss the Premiere
Dark Side of the Ring isn’t just a wrestling show—it’s a cultural phenomenon that forces the industry to confront its past. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or a casual viewer, the Season 6 premiere promises to be a gripping, emotional, and possibly disturbing experience.

Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight
