The Anticipation Builds: What to Expect in Season 6, Episode 3
The Dark Side of the Ring series has become a cultural phenomenon, peeling back the curtain on wrestling’s most infamous, tragic, and controversial stories. With Season 6 already delivering jaw-dropping revelations in its first two episodes, fans are buzzing with anticipation for Episode 3, airing live on April 8, 2025.
Will this installment uncover another shocking backstage scandal? Will it revisit a beloved wrestler’s tragic downfall? Or will it expose a conspiracy that the wrestling world has tried to bury?
Tonight’s episode promises to be one of the most explosive yet. Let’s break down everything we know—and what we’re dying to find out.
The Teaser: What Has Vice Revealed So Far?
Vice TV’s promotional material for Dark Side of the Ring S6E03 has been deliberately cryptic, fueling rampant speculation. The trailer features:
- Never-before-seen footage of a legendary wrestling figure in turmoil.
- Shocking interviews with insiders who have remained silent for decades.
- A blurred newspaper headline hinting at a real-life incident that rocked the industry.
Rumors suggest this episode could cover one of the following:
- The Mysterious Death of a Wrestling Icon – Could this be an in-depth look at a superstar whose demise was never fully explained?
- A Notorious Backstage Assault – Wrestling has had its share of violent altercations—will this episode expose one that was swept under the rug?
- The Rise and Fall of a Controversial Promoter – The wrestling business has had its share of shady power players. Is one finally getting their due scrutiny?
Fans on social media are already dissecting every frame of the preview, searching for clues.
The Rumors: What Are Insiders Saying?
Several wrestling journalists and insiders have dropped cryptic hints about tonight’s episode:
- “This might be the most disturbing story they’ve ever told.” – Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez.
- “A lot of people in the industry don’t want this one to come out.” – Dave Meltzer.
- “I’ve known about this for years. It’s worse than you think.” – A former WWE writer (anonymous).
If these teases hold weight, we could be in for a bombshell revelation that reshapes how we view wrestling history.
Possible Subjects: Who or What Is Episode 3 About?
Given Dark Side of the Ring’s track record, several compelling theories have emerged:
1. The Chris Benoit Tragedy – New Revelations?
The Benoit double-murder and suicide remains one of wrestling’s darkest moments. Could new witnesses or evidence shed light on what really happened in those final days?
2. The Ultimate Warrior’s Controversial Legacy
Warrior was a polarizing figure, both in and out of the ring. Would this episode explore his backstage politics, steroid allegations, or sudden death?
3. The Montreal Screwjob – The Untold Side
While the Screwjob has been covered before, are there new testimonies from those involved, revealing even deeper betrayals?
4. The Mysterious Downfall of “The Dynamite Kid”
Tom Billington’s career was destroyed by drugs, ego, and a brutal in-ring style. Would this be a deep dive into his tragic final years?
5. The Dark Secrets of a Fallen Promotion (ECW, WCW, or Smaller Territories)
Could this episode expose the financial ruin, backstage abuse, or mob ties that plagued certain wrestling companies?
Why This Episode Could Be a Game-Changer
Dark Side of the Ring has never shied away from uncomfortable truths. If tonight’s episode lives up to the hype, it could:
- Force the wrestling industry to confront its past.
- Reveal new details that change public perception of a major event.
- Give a voice to victims who were previously silenced.
Given how previous seasons have impacted wrestling discourse (such as the revelations about Jimmy Snuka and the Plane Ride from Hell), this episode could be just as seismic.

Deep Dive: Historical Context of Past Episodes & How It Shapes Expectations for S6E03
To truly appreciate what Dark Side of the Ring might unveil tonight, we must look back at the series’ most impactful episodes.
The Most Shocking Episodes So Far
- The Murder of Bruiser Brody (S1E3)

- Exposed the lack of justice and wrestling’s “code of silence.”

- Covered the rise and fall of Japan’s most extreme promotion.
- Revealed the exploitation of wrestlers in deathmatch wrestling.
- The Double Life of Chris Kanyon (S2E4)

- Showed the toll of homophobia in wrestling.
Given this pattern, Episode 3 will likely follow a similar structure:
- A charismatic but flawed wrestling figure.

- A system that failed to protect those involved.

Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight
