NJPW Road to THE NEW BEGINNING 2/11/25: A Night of Destiny, Drama, and Unforgettable Action
The road to greatness is never a straight path. It’s a winding journey filled with trials, triumphs, and moments that define legacies. On February 11, 2025, New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) will once again deliver a spectacle that promises to be etched in the annals of wrestling history. The Road to THE NEW BEGINNING 2/11/25 is not just an event—it’s a statement. It’s a declaration that NJPW remains the pinnacle of professional wrestling, where the stakes are high, the emotions are raw, and the action is unparalleled.
As we gear up for this monumental night, let’s dive deep into the match card, the rivalries, and the stories that will make this event unforgettable. From championship showdowns to personal vendettas, the Road to THE NEW BEGINNING is set to deliver a night of drama, excitement, and jaw-dropping moments.
The Main Event: IWGP World Heavyweight Championship – The Clash of Titans
At the top of the card, the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line as the reigning champion, Kazuchika Okada, defends his title against the relentless challenger, Shingo Takagi. This is more than just a championship match—it’s a battle of ideologies, styles, and pride.
Okada, the Rainmaker, has once again cemented himself as the face of NJPW. His technical mastery, combined with his ability to rise to the occasion, has made him one of the most dominant champions in wrestling history. But Shingo Takagi is no ordinary challenger. Known as “The Dragon,” Shingo brings a ferocious intensity and a never-say-die attitude that has made him a fan favorite.
Their paths have crossed before, but this time, the stakes are higher. Shingo has vowed to dethrone Okada and usher in a new era for NJPW. Will Okada’s reign continue, or will Shingo’s dragon fire burn brighter than ever? This main event promises to be a classic, with both men leaving everything in the ring.
IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship: High-Flying Excellence
The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship will also be up for grabs as Hiromu Takahashi defends his title against the high-flying phenom, El Desperado. Hiromu, known as the “Ticking Time Bomb,” has redefined what it means to be a junior heavyweight. His combination of speed, agility, and unorthodox offense has made him one of the most exciting wrestlers in the world.
But El Desperado is no slouch. A master of lucha libre and a cunning strategist, Desperado has proven time and time again that he can hang with the best. Their rivalry has been building for months, with each man trading victories and insults. This match is not just about the championship—it’s about pride, legacy, and proving who is the true king of the junior heavyweights.
Expect a fast-paced, high-octane match that will leave fans on the edge of their seats.
Never Openweight Championship: The Battle of the Bruisers
The Never Openweight Championship will be defended in what promises to be a hard-hitting, no-holds-barred match as Tomohiro Ishii takes on Jeff Cobb. Ishii, the “Stone Pitbull,” is known for his toughness and his ability to absorb punishment like no other. Cobb, on the other hand, is a powerhouse with Olympic-level strength and agility.
This match is a clash of styles and philosophies. Ishii’s grit and determination will be tested against Cobb’s raw power and athleticism. Both men have something to prove, and neither will back down. This is a match for the purists—a battle of wills that will leave both men battered and bruised, but only one will walk away with the championship.
Tag Team Turmoil: The Road to Glory
The tag team division in NJPW is as competitive as ever, and the Road to THE NEW BEGINNING will feature a blockbuster tag team match as Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tetsuya Naito team up to take on the reigning IWGP Tag Team Champions, Bishamon (Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI).
Tanahashi and Naito, two of the biggest stars in NJPW history, have put their differences aside to chase tag team gold. But standing in their way are Bishamon, a team that has proven to be one of the most dominant tag teams in recent memory.
This match is more than just a championship bout—it’s a clash of generations. Tanahashi and Naito represent the past and present of NJPW, while Bishamon represents the future. Who will come out on top? Only time will tell.
Grudge Match: The Battle of Betrayal
One of the most personal matches on the card will see Will Ospreay take on Jay White in a grudge match that has been months in the making. White, the leader of Bullet Club, has been a thorn in Ospreay’s side for years. Their rivalry has taken them across the globe, but it all comes to a head on February 11.
Ospreay, the “Aerial Assassin,” has vowed to take down White and finally put an end to his reign of terror. But White, the “Switchblade,” is as cunning as he is dangerous. This match is personal, and both men will stop at nothing to emerge victorious.
The Future is Now: Young Lions Showcase
No NJPW event would be complete without a showcase of the future stars of the company. The Road to THE NEW BEGINNING will feature a special Young Lions match, where the next generation of NJPW talent will have the opportunity to prove themselves on the big stage.
Keep an eye on Yuya Uemura and Yota Tsuji, two of the most promising Young Lions in recent memory. Both men have been making waves in the dojo and are poised to break out in a big way.
The Undercard: Hidden Gems
While the main events and championship matches will undoubtedly steal the show, the undercard is packed with hidden gems that are worth your attention. From six-man tag team matches to singles bouts featuring rising stars, every match on the card has the potential to be a show-stealer.
Final Thoughts: A Night to Remember
The Road to THE NEW BEGINNING 2/11/25 is more than just an event—it’s a celebration of everything that makes NJPW the best wrestling promotion in the world. From the high-stakes championship matches to the personal rivalries, every moment will be filled with drama, excitement, and unforgettable action.
As the NJPW faithful gather in the arena and fans around the world tune in, one thing is certain: this is a night that will be talked about for years to come. So mark your calendars, clear your schedules, and get ready for a night of wrestling that will leave you breathless.
The Road to THE NEW BEGINNING is here, and the journey is just beginning.
Stay tuned for more updates, predictions, and exclusive interviews as we count down to February 11, 2025. This is NJPW at its finest, and you won’t want to miss a single moment.
Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight

Really don’t like that it’s the Women’s NXT North American Championship.
Really don’t like that it’s the Women’s NXT North American Championship. Besides being an awkward mouthful, it’s too derivative of Men’s midcard title.
