The July 21st, 2023 episode of WWE Smackdown was a stacked card, featuring a number of exciting matches. The show kicked off with a contract signing for the upcoming SummerSlam match between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso.
Roman Reigns and Jey Uso sat down at a table in the middle of the ring, along with Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa. Reigns and Uso signed the contract, but then Heyman pulled out a second contract. This contract stipulated that if Jey Uso lost to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, he would be banned from ever challenging for the Universal Championship again.
Jey Uso was hesitant to sign the contract, but he eventually agreed. He knew that he had to win at SummerSlam if he wanted to continue his pursuit of the Universal Championship.
After the contract signing, we saw a number of other exciting matches.
In the first match, Drew McIntyre defeated Sami Zayn. McIntyre was dominant throughout the match, and he eventually hit Zayn with a Claymore Kick for the win.
In the second match, Sheamus defeated Ricochet. Sheamus was also dominant in this match, and he eventually pinned Ricochet after hitting him with a Brogue Kick.
In the third match, Natalya defeated Liv Morgan. Natalya was able to outwrestle Morgan for most of the match, and she eventually pinned her after hitting her with a Sharpshooter.
In the fourth match, The Usos defeated The Street Profits. The Usos were able to retain their SmackDown Tag Team Championship, and they continue to look like one of the best tag teams in the world.
In the main event, Ronda Rousey defeated Raquel Rodriguez. Rousey was able to overcome Rodriguez’s size and power, and she eventually pinned her after hitting her with an armbar.
