The WWE Universe is buzzing with anticipation as March 23rd, 2025, approaches. On this monumental night, WWE presents Greatest Moments Live, a once-in-a-lifetime event that promises to celebrate the rich history of sports entertainment while delivering the jaw-dropping action and drama that only WWE can provide. This isn’t just another pay-per-view—it’s a love letter to the fans, a tribute to the legends, and a showcase of the future of WWE.
For decades, WWE has been the epicenter of larger-than-life characters, heart-stopping matches, and moments that have transcended the world of wrestling to become pop culture phenomena. From Hulk Hogan body-slamming Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III to The Undertaker’s legendary Streak, from “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s beer bash to Kofi Kingston’s emotional WWE Championship win, WWE has given us memories that last a lifetime. On March 23rd, 2025, Greatest Moments Live will bring these iconic moments back to life—and create new ones that will be talked about for years to come.
In this preview, we’ll dive deep into what makes this event so special, from the confirmed matches and surprise appearances to the cutting-edge production that will make this a must-watch experience for fans around the globe. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or a newcomer to the world of WWE, Greatest Moments Live is shaping up to be an unmissable spectacle.
The Concept: Reliving the Past, Embracing the Future
Greatest Moments Live is more than just a nostalgia trip—it’s a celebration of WWE’s enduring legacy and its ability to evolve with the times. The event will feature reimagined versions of classic matches, surprise returns from legendary Superstars, and current WWE talent paying homage to the icons who paved the way.
The show will be structured around key eras in WWE history, from the Golden Age of the 1980s to the Attitude Era, the Ruthless Aggression Era, and the modern-day WWE. Each segment will feature matches, promos, and video packages that highlight the defining moments of that era, creating a seamless blend of past and present.
But don’t think for a second that this is just a trip down memory lane. WWE has promised that Greatest Moments Live will also set the stage for the future, with shocking twists, new rivalries, and unforgettable moments that will shape the direction of the company for years to come.
Confirmed Matches and Appearances
While WWE has been tight-lipped about the full card, several matches and appearances have been confirmed, and they’re enough to send the WWE Universe into a frenzy. Here’s a breakdown of what we know so far:
1. The Rock vs. Roman Reigns: The Final Chapter
This is the match fans have been clamoring for—a dream showdown between two generations of the Anoa’i family. The Rock, arguably the most electrifying man in sports entertainment, will step back into the ring to face his cousin, Roman Reigns, the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and the undisputed Head of the Table.
This match is more than just a battle for supremacy—it’s a clash of ideologies. The Rock represents the past, a time when charisma and showmanship ruled the ring. Roman Reigns represents the present and future, a dominant force who has redefined what it means to be a WWE Superstar. With Paul Heyman in Reigns’ corner and rumors of other family members getting involved, this match has all the makings of an instant classic.
2. John Cena vs. Austin Theory: Passing the Torch
John Cena, the 16-time World Champion and the face of WWE for over a decade, will take on Austin Theory, the brash young Superstar who has been touted as the future of the company. This match is a symbolic passing of the torch, as Cena looks to prove that he still has what it takes while Theory aims to cement his place as the next big thing.
Cena’s last match was at WrestleMania 40, and his return to the ring is a major draw for fans. Theory, meanwhile, has been on a meteoric rise, and a victory over Cena would be the defining moment of his career.
3. The Undertaker’s Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
While not a match, this segment is sure to be one of the most emotional moments of the night. The Undertaker, arguably the greatest character in WWE history, will be officially inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of Greatest Moments Live. Expect a star-studded ceremony featuring appearances from some of The Deadman’s greatest rivals and allies, including Kane, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H.
Rumors are swirling that The Undertaker may even deliver one last “Rest in Peace” to close out the ceremony, sending chills down the spines of fans worldwide.
4. Women’s Revolution Showcase: Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley
The Women’s Revolution has been one of the most transformative movements in WWE history, and this match is a testament to how far women’s wrestling has come. Charlotte Flair, the Queen of WWE, will face Rhea Ripley, the reigning Women’s World Champion, in a battle of two of the most dominant forces in the division.
Both Superstars have been at the forefront of the Women’s Evolution, and this match promises to be a hard-hitting, high-stakes encounter that could steal the show.
5. Surprise Returns and Special Guests
WWE has teased that Greatest Moments Live will feature several surprise returns and special guests. Names like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Triple H, and even CM Punk have been rumored to appear, though nothing has been confirmed. One thing is certain: WWE loves to deliver surprises, and this event will be no exception.
The Production: A Spectacle Like No Other
WWE is known for its larger-than-life production, and Greatest Moments Live will take things to a whole new level. The event will be held at the state-of-the-art SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, with a stage design that pays homage to WWE’s storied history. Expect pyro, holograms, and cutting-edge special effects that will bring iconic moments to life in ways we’ve never seen before.
The broadcast will also feature exclusive behind-the-scenes content, interviews, and interactive elements for fans watching at home. With multiple camera angles, augmented reality graphics, and a live orchestra performing iconic WWE themes, this will be a truly immersive experience.
Why You Can’t Miss It
Greatest Moments Live is more than just a wrestling event—it’s a celebration of everything that makes WWE special. From the larger-than-life characters to the unforgettable moments, this is a night that will remind us why we fell in love with WWE in the first place.
Whether you’re tuning in to see your favorite legends return to the ring, witness the next chapter in WWE’s storied history, or simply experience the spectacle of it all, Greatest Moments Live is an event you won’t want to miss.
Mark your calendars for March 23rd, 2025, and get ready to witness history. This is WWE at its absolute best.
Stay tuned for more updates as we count down to WWE’s Greatest Moments Live!
Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight
