AEW Rampage Results: October 13, 2023

AEW Rampage returned on October 13, 2023 with a stacked card of matches, including a tag team main event featuring the Blackpool Combat Club and the Gates of Agony.

Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard, and Angelo Parker vs. The Hardys and Brother Zay

The show kicked off with a six-man tag team match as Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard, and Angelo Parker of the Jericho Appreciation Society took on the Hardys and Brother Zay. The match was fast-paced and action-packed, with both teams getting their fair share of offense.

In the end, Garcia was able to pin Zay for the victory after Menard and Parker distracted the referee.

Skye Blue vs. Emi Sakura

Next up was a singles match between Skye Blue and Emi Sakura. Blue was fresh off her victory over Penelope Ford at AEW Collision, and she was looking to keep her momentum going.

Sakura is a veteran of the industry and a former AEW Women’s World Champion, so Blue knew she would have her work cut out for her. However, Blue was up for the challenge and she was able to defeat Sakura with her Code Blue finisher.

Jay Lethal vs. Trent Beretta

The third match on the card was a singles match between Jay Lethal and Trent Beretta. Lethal is a former ROH World Champion and one of the most skilled wrestlers in the world. Beretta is a member of the Best Friends and one of the most popular wrestlers in AEW.

The match was a technical masterpiece, with both wrestlers showcasing their skills. In the end, Lethal was able to defeat Beretta with his Lethal Injection finisher.

Blackpool Combat Club vs. Gates of Agony

The main event of the evening was a tag team match between the Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta) and the Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona).

The BCC is one of the most dominant tag teams in AEW, while the Gates of Agony is a relatively new team but they have already made a big impact.

The match was a hard-hitting affair, with both teams giving it their all. In the end, the BCC was able to pick up the victory after Castagnoli hit Liona with the Neutralizer.

After the match, Castagnoli and Yuta cut a promo in which they challenged the Acclaimed to a match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

The Acclaimed came out to accept the challenge and the two teams had a heated staredown to close out the show.

Overall, it was a great episode of AEW Rampage with some exciting matches. The main event between the Blackpool Combat Club and the Gates of Agony was particularly good, and the post-match promo between the BCC and the Acclaimed set up a potential blockbuster tag team match for the near future.

In addition to the matches, there were also a few other notable moments on the show.

  • Eddie Kingston cut a promo in which he addressed his upcoming AEW World Championship match against Bryan Danielson. Kingston said that he is ready for the challenge and that he is going to prove that he is the best wrestler in the world.
  • Jon Moxley cut a promo in which he challenged Chris Jericho to a match at AEW Full Gear. Moxley said that he is tired of Jericho talking trash about him and that he wants to settle their rivalry once and for all.
  • Jamie Hayter cut a promo in which she addressed her upcoming AEW Women’s World Championship match against Toni Storm. Hayter said that she is going to take the championship from Storm and that she is going to be the next great champion.
