AEW Collision Live 2/22/25: The Night Wrestling History Will Be Made
The air is electric, the stakes are sky-high, and the wrestling world is buzzing with anticipation. All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is set to deliver another unforgettable night of action, drama, and jaw-dropping moments as AEW Collision Live returns on February 22, 2025. This isn’t just another event—it’s a collision of dreams, rivalries, and legacies that will leave fans talking for years to come.
From championship showdowns to personal vendettas, the card for 2/22/25 is stacked with matches that promise to redefine what it means to be a wrestling fan. So, buckle up as we dive deep into the preview of what could be one of the most explosive nights in AEW history.
The Main Event: A Clash of Titans
At the top of the card, the AEW World Championship will be on the line as reigning champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) defends his title against the relentless Kenny Omega. This isn’t just a match—it’s a battle of ideologies. MJF, the self-proclaimed “Devil,” has spent months taunting Omega, calling him a relic of the past. Omega, on the other hand, has vowed to prove that he’s still the “Best Bout Machine” and reclaim the title he once held so proudly.
The build-up to this match has been nothing short of cinematic. From backstage brawls to scathing promos, the tension between these two has reached a boiling point. MJF’s cunning mind games versus Omega’s unparalleled in-ring prowess—this is a main event that promises to deliver fireworks. Will MJF’s underhanded tactics secure him another victory, or will Omega’s resilience and experience bring him back to the top of AEW?
The Dream Match: Sting’s Final Stand?
In what could potentially be his last match, the legendary Sting will step into the ring one more time to face the rising star Darby Allin. This match is more than just a passing of the torch—it’s a celebration of Sting’s storied career and a testament to Darby’s evolution as one of AEW’s brightest talents.
The storyline leading up to this match has been emotional and deeply personal. Sting, the ageless icon, has taken Darby under his wing, but now it’s time for the student to face the teacher. Darby has expressed his desire to honor Sting by giving him the match of a lifetime, while Sting has promised to leave everything he has left in the ring. Expect high-risk maneuvers, heart-stopping near-falls, and a moment that will bring the entire arena to its feet.
The Grudge Match: Blood and Guts
When Jon Moxley and Swerve Strickland collide, you know it’s going to be violent. These two have been at each other’s throats for months, and their feud has escalated to a level of brutality rarely seen in professional wrestling. This match has been officially announced as a No Disqualification bout, and both men have vowed to leave the other in a pool of blood.
Moxley, the unhinged brawler, thrives in chaos, but Swerve’s cunning and athleticism make him a dangerous opponent in any environment. With weapons, interference, and sheer hatred fueling this match, it’s impossible to predict who will walk out victorious. One thing is certain: this will be a fight that fans will never forget.
The Tag Team Showdown: FTR vs. The Young Bucks
Tag team wrestling doesn’t get any better than this. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) will go head-to-head with The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) in a match that could very well steal the show. These two teams have a storied history, and every time they meet in the ring, magic happens.
This time, the stakes are even higher. FTR has been on a mission to prove they’re the greatest tag team of all time, while The Young Bucks are determined to reclaim their spot at the top of the division. With their contrasting styles—FTR’s old-school technical mastery versus The Bucks’ high-flying innovation—this match is a dream come true for any wrestling purist.
The Women’s Division: A New Era Begins
The AEW Women’s World Championship will also be on the line as Thunder Rosa defends her title against the undefeated Julia Hart. Hart, the dark horse of the division, has been on a meteoric rise, and her unique in-ring style has made her a fan favorite. Thunder Rosa, however, is a seasoned veteran who has no intention of letting her title slip away.
This match represents a turning point for the women’s division. With Hart’s momentum and Rosa’s determination, this could be the start of a new era in AEW women’s wrestling. Will Hart’s undefeated streak continue, or will Rosa prove why she’s one of the most dominant champions in AEW history?
The Wildcard: Samoa Joe’s Open Challenge
Samoa Joe, the reigning TNT Champion, has issued an open challenge for AEW Collision Live. Known for his brutal in-ring style and no-nonsense attitude, Joe has promised to destroy anyone brave enough to step up. The mystery surrounding his opponent has fans speculating wildly. Could it be a returning star? A debuting talent? Or perhaps an unexpected challenger from another promotion?
Whoever steps up to face Joe will have their work cut out for them. The TNT Championship has become one of the most prestigious titles in wrestling, and Joe has been an unstoppable force since winning it. This match is a wildcard that could steal the spotlight.
The Undercard: Rising Stars and Future Legends
While the main card is packed with marquee matches, the undercard is equally exciting. Ricky Starks will face Wardlow in a battle of power versus agility, while Orange Cassidy takes on Kyle O’Reilly in a match that promises to be as technical as it is entertaining.
Additionally, the Trios Championship will be defended as The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews) put their titles on the line against the high-energy team of Top Flight and AR Fox. With so much talent on display, the undercard is a testament to AEW’s depth and commitment to showcasing the future of wrestling.
Why You Can’t Miss AEW Collision Live 2/22/25
AEW has built a reputation for delivering pay-per-view-quality events on a weekly basis, and Collision Live on February 22, 2025, is no exception. Every match on the card has a story, every competitor has a purpose, and every moment is designed to leave fans on the edge of their seats.
Whether you’re a lifelong wrestling fan or a newcomer to the world of AEW, this event has something for everyone. Let the collision begin.
Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight

Really don’t like that it’s the Women’s NXT North American Championship.
Really don’t like that it’s the Women’s NXT North American Championship. Besides being an awkward mouthful, it’s too derivative of Men’s midcard title.
