Two against one? TNT Champion Luchasaurus vs Christian Cage vs Darby Allin! | 9/23/23, AEW Collision

DID YOU ENJOY THE AEW COLLISION ON SEPTEMBER 23 2023?

last minute addition

September 24, 2023

Is it too ambitious to hope for a last minute addition to a Starks vs Mox match? I’m on my cope mode that Mox isn’t seriously hurt and is cleared.

Samuel

Wrestledream

September 24, 2023

Wrestledream aka Tony’s Dream

Benjamin

this Show was solid.

September 24, 2023

I don’t know what this new era Tony is talking about in that commercial, but this week was solid. And tonight, top to bottom, hit the spot. Gonna be a tough rating against a good Ohio State and Notre Dame game, but I hope everyone who missed it watches it back on the app tomorrow cause it was that damn good.

Brandon

Kevin Kelly lately

September 24, 2023

I’ve been hard on Kevin Kelly lately and while I don’t retract anything I’ve said, he was much better this week than last week. Still plenty to criticize but he didn’t hurt the broadcast. Strong showing from JR as well. He’s still able to contribute when he’s presented with something that’s in his wheelhouse, and the fact that KK loves to lay out works really well with JR’s verbose style. Nigel is great but that’s not news.

Generally speaking, really strong episode. Things that stood out to me include Kyle Fletcher being shockingly good on guest commentary, Brody King and Julia Hart still being a home run of a pairing, Bullet Club finding a way to entertain me with every second they spend on my screen, and of course the casually outstanding Bryan Danielson main event. I’m glad they’re finally starting the “Luchasaurus wakes up” storyline.

AEW wrestling this week

September 24, 2023

It’s been a good 6 hours of AEW wrestling this week

Justin

That show was fantastic

September 24, 2023

First full tv show from any promotion I’ve watched in a while, that was fantastic

Larry

if hes missing one more week,

September 24, 2023

im putting up missing Malakai Black posters

Stephen

Shame we didn’t get to see Willow wrestle but top to bottom it was one their best episodes.

September 24, 2023

Best Collision since the MJF/Cole vs FTR and Andrade vs Matthews ladder match episode a couple months back.

I know there’s been some negativity surrounding AEW increasing their PPV schedule (hopefully they do get on a streaming service to make it more affordable) but if it means we are getting cards like WrestleDream, Forbidden Door, a yearly All In and more than I can’t see myself complaining about that.

Jonathan

That show

September 24, 2023

kicked ass

Eric

Jesus great Collision.

September 24, 2023

Really wish there was a better time slot to give more exposure. Loving the last month.

Nicholas

Dream filling out its card.

September 24, 2023

Big winner tonight was Wrestle Dream filling out its card.

Jacob

Ricky Starks,

September 24, 2023

Ricky Starks, having gotten beat so badly by Bryan Danielson will realize the evil of his ways and promise to now do good. At that moment, Ricky Starks will truly become the face of Collision. The Artist Formerly Known As Big Bill will now be known as Good Bill.

Ryan

Ppv worthy

September 24, 2023

Ppv worthy show 🔥

Jeffrey

best Collision

September 24, 2023

Might’ve been the best Collision yet.

Edward

I was there tonight.

September 24, 2023

We left before ROH because some dudes in our section were screaming like banshees and making derogatory remarks about the women. Apart from that, it was great!

Jason

new era begins.

September 24, 2023

Not sure what the exact words that were used but what did TK mean by next Sunday one chapter closes and a new era begins.

Ronald

Thank you OP

September 24, 2023

Thank you OP for not getting the TNT Championship lineage confused, there’s been way too many of these fatherless little pieces of shit who think dinosaurs can wrestle

Timothy

Workhorsemen did great,

September 24, 2023

Workhorsemen did great, this is why I am never against AEW bringing unknowns to do matches. Last week it was “who are you” chants and tonight it was “holy shit!” chants. They have been doing fun stuff on ROH too hope they get a push on there too.

George

Nigel Mcguinness was firing

September 24, 2023

Nigel Mcguinness was firing on all cylinders tonight with his Danielson hate. In a prefect world, there something very beautiful and poetic about Nigel Mcguinness and Bryan Danielson ending their in-ring careers together with a match at All In 2024 (But also Omega v Danielson at All In would go so hard)

Brian

Fantastic show as expected, looking at the card.

September 24, 2023

Every match overachieved, good storytelling and Wrestledream looks INCREDIBLE on paper.

Kevin

Looks like he genuinely killed Ricky with them

September 24, 2023

It’s honestly hilarious how violent Danielson’s stomps are

Kenneth

PPV quality match

September 24, 2023

Sometimes, especially with all of the BTS drama AEW been having lately, it’s made me a bit tired out with wrestling and a bit exhausted by it.

With Grand Slam Dynamite, Rampage and Collision tonight, I feel completely spoiled by it now. I don’t think I’ve been remotely tired by the mostly quality 6 hours of wrestling.

Collision really brought it tonight with the great Darby opener, Workhorsemen making the most out of their time with FTR in a great match. and a close to PPV quality match with Danielson and Starks all the while making Wrestledream look like one of the best PPVs of the year.

Joshua

Just a fantastic two hour episode of wrestling television.

September 24, 2023

Not one part of the show that I didn’t enjoy, and that’s rare for any wrestling show.

Paul

Very good Show

September 24, 2023

Nigel really elevates Collision for me, a good commentator can do that cough cough

It’s great to see Julia having her own thing to do (Kris match + Julia/Skye feud would be very popular). I still wonder why they seem to have dropped Mercedes/Diamante 🙁 At least they seem to be continuing in ROH.

The Christian/Luchasaurus storyline has played out really nicely so far. Sometimes it’s in the foreground, sometimes in the background of Christian’s other storylines, but it continues. Meandering storylines can be…awful…but I enjoy seeing Luchasaurus’ brief moments of clarity.

I started watching after Santana got injured so I mostly just know Ortiz. I’ve not really been feeling Santana’s promos and I’m very partial to Ortiz.

CJ seemed to have a lot of negative reaction when she first popped up, but I’ve liked her so far. There are married couples in AEW, but Miro/CJ have a nice chemistry AND they do a decent job acting. Very good.

Andrew

Starks vs Danielson

September 24, 2023

It was a clever stipulation for Starks vs Danielson. Afterall, Starks hasn’t technically lost to Danielson. The first time he passed out, the second time he was knocked out. Very clever piece of business that elevates Starks in defeat – both times.

That being said, he needs to start getting some big wins or this has all been for nothing. Shame he’s not on the PPV next weekend.

Steven

Best collision yet

September 24, 2023

Definitely high up there. Also workehorseman really showed out happy for them after last week

Donald

Jay White

September 24, 2023

Jay White stole the show once again.

Mark

AEW is back

September 24, 2023

10/10 episode.

Anthony

Seems like the company’s getting back into a really nice groove right now.

September 24, 2023

That might’ve been the best Collision yet. Really top-notch show from top to bottom.

Matthew

JR did much better than Kevin Kelly tonight,

September 24, 2023

JR did much better than Kevin Kelly tonight, and this tells a lot about KK’s AEW run

Daniel

SHORT MATCH BANGER ALERT

September 24, 2023

Being against FTR is a bit of a cheat code, but damn did the WorkHorsemen make the most of their time. JD Drake always impresses every time I see him, and Henry looked pretty damn solid as well.

Charles

Ricky Starks TWICE

September 24, 2023

Danielson murdered Ricky Starks TWICE and both times made him look like a badass in the process

Christopher

Fantastic episode.

September 24, 2023

All the people who said Collision would start sucking and then tonight’s episode being a fucking banger looking real quiet right now.

Thomas

I absolutely love how much Nigel hates Bryan Danielson

September 24, 2023

“I don’t know if that strap will have any effect on Danielson. He got married in 2014 so he’s been whipped for 9 years!”

Joseph

Punk’s Collision,

September 24, 2023

I do not miss Punk’s Collision, this is much more connected to everything happening in AEW

Richard

dream card still only having

September 24, 2023

the wrestle dream card still only having one women’s match is crazy

William

Kevin Kelly is bad at his job

September 24, 2023

I cannot say enough how much Kevin Kelly is bad at his job. His enthusiasm sounds fake. His ability to lead the viewer through the story of the match is clunky at best. His ability to hype up other storylines and events is nonexistent.

He’s just the opposite of good.

Even Michael Cole at his worst could at least promote what else is going on. KK seems completely lost.

David

Don Callis family has to win.

September 24, 2023

I really would like to see Takeshita and Osprey to go over Omega and Jericho.

Michael

FTR vs The Workhorsemen.

September 24, 2023

I needed at least another 30 minutes of FTR vs The Workhorsemen.

John

PPV already shows

September 24, 2023

I feel like putting Julia on a PPV already shows they have a lot of trust in her. I really do think she has a ton of potential so I hope her match with Stat bangs.

Robert

holy shit

September 24, 2023

Julia Harts entrance is fucking top tier.

This match is sure to be one of the most anticipated matches of the year.

Overall, AEW Collision was a very successful show. The matches were all excellent, and there were a few big surprises that will keep fans talking for weeks to come.

Here is a more detailed recap of some of the key matches from the show:

Texas Death Match: Bryan Danielson vs. Ricky Starks

Bryan Danielson and Ricky Starks have been engaged in a bitter rivalry for months, and their Texas Death Match at AEW Collision was the culmination of that rivalry. The match was brutal from the start, with both men trading blows and using weapons to try to gain an advantage.

At one point, Danielson powerbombed Starks through a table outside of the ring. Later in the match, Starks hit Danielson with a spear through a flaming table. However, Danielson refused to give up, and he eventually hit Starks with a running knee strike to win the match.

AEW Tag Team Championship Match: FTR vs. The WorkHorsemen

FTR and The WorkHorsemen have been two of the best tag teams in AEW all year, and their title match at AEW Collision was a showcase of their talents. The match was back-and-forth throughout, with both teams coming close to winning on multiple occasions.

In the end, it was FTR who emerged victorious after hitting JD Drake with the Big Rig. FTR’s victory was their first successful title defense since winning the AEW Tag Team Championship at AEW Double or Nothing.

Three-Way Match for the TNT Championship: Luchasaurus vs. Christian Cage vs. Darby Allin

The three-way match for the TNT Championship at AEW Collision was one of the most unpredictable matches of the night. All three men are incredibly talented and dangerous competitors, and the match was a showcase of their skills.

Luchasaurus was the dominant force in the match early on, but Christian Cage and Darby Allin were able to use their experience and cunning to stay in the hunt. At one point, Christian Cage and Darby Allin teamed up to attack Luchasaurus, but Luchasaurus was able to fight back and hit Christian Cage with a chokeslam.

In the end, it was Christian Cage who emerged victorious after tricking Luchasaurus. Christian Cage gave Luchasaurus the title belt and told him to hold it up, but then Christian Cage hit Luchasaurus with the title belt and pinned him to win the match.

Conclusion

AEW Collision was a very successful show. The matches were all excellent, and there were a few big surprises that will keep fans talking for weeks to come. Bryan Danielson’s victory over Ricky Starks in the Texas Death Match was a fitting end to their bitter rivalry, and Christian Cage’s victory over Luchasaurus and Darby Allin to win the TNT Championship was a shocking upset.

Other notable moments from the show included Eddie Kingston’s announcement that he will defend his ROH World Championship and NJPW Openweight Championship against Katsuyori Shibata at AEW WrestleDream, and the return of Saraya, formerly known as Paige.

Overall, AEW Collision was a very memorable show that is sure to be talked about for months to come.

Here are some additional thoughts on the show:

  • Bryan Danielson’s victory over Ricky Starks was a huge moment for the American Dragon. Danielson has been one of the best wrestlers in the world for over a decade, but he has never won a world championship in AEW. His victory over Starks puts him in line for a shot at the AEW World Championship, and it will be exciting to see what he can accomplish in the main event scene.
  • Christian Cage’s victory over Luchasaurus and Darby Allin to win the TNT Championship was a shocking upset. Cage is a veteran wrestler, but he has never been a top star in AEW. His victory over two of the company’s most popular young stars is a sign that AEW is willing to give talented wrestlers opportunities, regardless of their age or experience.
  • Eddie Kingston’s announcement that he will defend his ROH World Championship and NJPW Openweight Championship against Katsuyori Shibata at AEW WrestleDream is a huge match for AEW. Shibata is one of the most respected wrestlers in the world, and he is known for his hard-hitting and intense style. His match against Kingston is sure to be a classic.
  • The return of Saraya, formerly known as Paige, was a welcome surprise. Saraya is one of the most popular female wrestlers in the world, and her return to AEW will be a major boost for the company’s women’s division. It will be exciting to see what she can accomplish in AEW.

Overall, AEW Collision was a very successful show. The matches were all excellent, and there were a few big surprises that will keep fans talking for weeks to come. It is clear that AEW is one of the most exciting and innovative wrestling companies in the world, and it will be interesting to see what they do next.

AEW Collision 2023 Preview: A Night of Blood, Sweat, and Tears

AEW Collision is back, and it’s set to be the most brutal and exciting event of the year. With two title matches, a Texas Death Match, and a dream match between two of the biggest stars in the world, there’s something for everyone at this event.

Texas Death Match: Ricky Starks vs. Bryan Danielson

Ricky Starks and Bryan Danielson have been feuding for months, and it’s all come to a head in this Texas Death Match. There are no rules in a Texas Death Match, and the only way to win is to leave your opponent unable to continue. This is sure to be a bloody and vicious match, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

AEW Tag Team Championship: FTR (c) vs. The WorkHorsemen

FTR have been the dominant tag team in AEW for over a year, but they’re facing a tough challenge in The WorkHorsemen. JD Drake and Anthony Henry are two of the toughest and most skilled tag teams in the world, and they’re determined to take the AEW Tag Team Championship from FTR. This is sure to be a close and exciting match, and it will be interesting to see who new champions will be.

TNT Championship: Luchasaurus (c) vs. Christian Cage vs. Darby Allin

Luchasaurus has been a dominant TNT Champion, but he’s facing two of the biggest stars in AEW in Christian Cage and Darby Allin. Christian Cage is a former AEW Champion, and he’s still one of the best wrestlers in the world. Darby Allin is one of the most exciting wrestlers in the world, and he’s always up for a challenge. This is sure to be a wild match, and it will be interesting to see who new champion will be.

Andrade El Idolo vs. Jay White

Andrade El Idolo and Jay White are two of the biggest stars in the world, and they’re finally meeting in a one-on-one match. Andrade is a former WWE Champion, and he’s one of the most charismatic wrestlers in the world. Jay White is the leader of the Bullet Club, and he’s one of the most skilled wrestlers in the world. This is sure to be a dream match, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

Other Matches

In addition to the four major matches mentioned above, there are also a number of other exciting matches on the AEW Collision card. Rob Van Dam will team up with Hook to take on Angelo Parker and Matt Menard. Willow Nightingale will battle Julia Hart. And there are sure to be a few surprises along the way.

Predictions

Here are my predictions for the major matches at AEW Collision:

  • Texas Death Match: Ricky Starks defeats Bryan Danielson
  • AEW Tag Team Championship: FTR (c) defeat The WorkHorsemen
  • TNT Championship: Christian Cage defeats Luchasaurus (c) and Darby Allin
  • Andrade El Idolo defeats Jay White

These are just my predictions, of course. Anything can happen in a wrestling ring, and I’m sure there will be some surprises. But I think these are the most likely outcomes for the major matches at AEW Collision.

Conclusion

AEW Collision is shaping up to be the most exciting event of the year. With four major matches, a number of other exciting matches, and a few surprises sure to happen, this is an event that no fan should miss. Be sure to tune in to TNT on September 23rd to catch all the action.
