AEW Revolution PPV Live 3/9/25: The Ultimate Preview of Wrestling’s Most Explosive Night
March 9, 2025, marks the date of one of the most anticipated events in professional wrestling: AEW Revolution. For fans of All Elite Wrestling, this pay-per-view is more than just a show—it’s a cultural phenomenon, a night where rivalries reach their boiling point, legends are born, and the wrestling world is forever changed. As the clock ticks down to the big night, the excitement is palpable, and the stakes have never been higher.
In this comprehensive preview, we’ll dive deep into the matches, the storylines, and the potential surprises that await us at AEW Revolution 2025. From championship clashes to personal vendettas, this event promises to deliver the kind of high-octane action and emotional storytelling that has made AEW a global powerhouse in the wrestling industry. So, grab your popcorn, settle in, and let’s break down everything you need to know about this monumental night.
The Stage Is Set: What Makes AEW Revolution Special?
AEW Revolution has always been a cornerstone of All Elite Wrestling’s calendar. Since its inception, the event has been synonymous with groundbreaking moments, jaw-dropping matches, and unforgettable surprises. From Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley’s Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch to the rise of new stars like MJF and Darby Allin, Revolution has consistently delivered on its promise to revolutionize the wrestling landscape.
This year, the stakes are even higher. With AEW’s global audience growing exponentially, the pressure is on to deliver a show that not only satisfies the loyal fanbase but also captivates new viewers. The card is stacked, the storylines are razor-sharp, and the talent roster is firing on all cylinders. This is AEW at its absolute best, and Revolution 2025 is poised to be a night for the ages.
The Main Event: A Clash of Titans
At the heart of every great pay-per-view is a main event that leaves fans talking for years to come. This year, AEW Revolution delivers a blockbuster showdown that pits two of the biggest names in wrestling against each other: MJF vs. Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship.
MJF, the self-proclaimed “Salt of the Earth,” has been on a meteoric rise since capturing the title. His cunning tactics, unmatched mic skills, and ability to get under the skin of both his opponents and the audience have solidified him as one of the most compelling heels in the business. But standing in his way is Kenny Omega, the “Best Bout Machine” and a man who needs no introduction. Omega, a former AEW World Champion, is determined to reclaim his throne and prove that he’s still the best wrestler on the planet.
The build-up to this match has been nothing short of electric. MJF has taunted Omega at every turn, questioning his legacy and even bringing up his past failures. Omega, on the other hand, has remained laser-focused, vowing to silence MJF once and for all. With both men at the peak of their powers, this match has all the makings of an instant classic. Will MJF’s underhanded tactics secure him the victory, or will Omega’s unparalleled in-ring prowess prove too much for the champion?
The Co-Main Event: A Blood Feud Comes to a Head
If the main event isn’t enough to get your blood pumping, the co-main event certainly will. CM Punk and Adam Cole will finally settle their bitter rivalry in a No Holds Barred Match. This feud has been months in the making, with both men trading verbal barbs and physical blows at every opportunity.
CM Punk, the voice of the voiceless, has made it clear that he sees Cole as a pretender—a man who talks a big game but can’t back it up in the ring. Cole, meanwhile, has accused Punk of being past his prime and living off his reputation. The personal nature of this feud has taken it to another level, and the No Holds Barred stipulation ensures that there will be no rules, no limits, and no mercy.
Expect chairs, tables, kendo sticks, and maybe even a few surprises as these two warriors go to war. This isn’t just a match; it’s a fight for pride, legacy, and bragging rights.
Tag Team Turmoil: The Battle for Supremacy
AEW’s tag team division is widely regarded as one of the best in the world, and Revolution 2025 will showcase that talent in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championships. The reigning champions, FTR, will defend their titles against The Young Bucks and The Lucha Brothers.
This match is a dream come true for tag team wrestling fans. FTR, with their old-school style and unmatched chemistry, have been on a historic run as champions. The Young Bucks, the high-flying innovators, are determined to reclaim the gold and cement their legacy as the greatest tag team of all time. And then there’s The Lucha Brothers, whose combination of speed, agility, and lucha libre flair makes them a constant threat.
With so much talent in one ring, this match is guaranteed to be a show-stealer. Expect breathtaking sequences, near-falls, and moments that will leave you on the edge of your seat.
Women’s Division Showcase: A New Era Begins
The AEW Women’s World Championship will also be on the line at Revolution, as Thunder Rosa defends her title against Jamie Hayter. Thunder Rosa, a trailblazer in women’s wrestling, has been a dominant champion, but Jamie Hayter is a force to be reckoned with. Known for her hard-hitting style and no-nonsense attitude, Hayter has been on a collision course with Rosa for months.
This match represents the future of women’s wrestling in AEW. Both competitors are at the top of their game, and their contrasting styles promise to create a compelling and hard-fought contest. Will Thunder Rosa continue her reign of dominance, or will Jamie Hayter usher in a new era for the women’s division?
The X-Factor: What Surprises Await?
One of the hallmarks of AEW Revolution is its ability to deliver unexpected moments that leave fans in awe. Whether it’s a shocking debut, a surprise return, or a match that exceeds all expectations, Revolution always has a few tricks up its sleeve.
Could we see the long-awaited debut of a major free agent? Will a former champion make their return to shake up the landscape? Or will a rising star seize the moment and catapult themselves into the spotlight? The possibilities are endless, and that’s what makes AEW Revolution must-see television.

Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight

Really don’t like that it’s the Women’s NXT North American Championship.
Really don’t like that it’s the Women’s NXT North American Championship. Besides being an awkward mouthful, it’s too derivative of Men’s midcard title.
