NJPW CRAZY FEST PPV 2025 Live Preview: A Night of Chaos, Glory, and Unforgettable Moments
March 10th, 2025, is a date that will forever be etched in the annals of professional wrestling history. New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) is set to deliver yet another monumental pay-per-view event, CRAZY FEST 2025, a spectacle that promises to redefine the boundaries of sports entertainment. For fans of hard-hitting action, emotional storytelling, and larger-than-life characters, this is the event you cannot afford to miss.
As the lights dim in the iconic Tokyo Dome and the roar of 50,000 passionate fans reverberates through the arena, CRAZY FEST 2025 will unfold as a night of chaos, glory, and unforgettable moments. This blog will take you deep into the heart of the event, breaking down the matches, the rivalries, and the stakes that make this PPV a must-watch for wrestling enthusiasts around the globe.
The Stage is Set: What Makes CRAZY FEST Special?
NJPW’s CRAZY FEST has always been a unique event in the wrestling calendar. Unlike the more traditional tournaments like the G1 Climax or the Best of the Super Juniors, CRAZY FEST is a celebration of unpredictability. It’s a night where the rules are bent, the stakes are sky-high, and the unexpected becomes the norm.
This year’s edition is no different. With a card stacked with dream matches, bitter rivalries, and championship showdowns, CRAZY FEST 2025 is poised to deliver a rollercoaster of emotions. From the opening bell to the final curtain call, every match is designed to leave fans on the edge of their seats.
The Main Event: IWGP World Heavyweight Championship – Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Shota Umino
The IWGP World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line in the main event, as the Rainmaker, Kazuchika Okada, defends his title against the rising star, Shota Umino. This match is more than just a championship bout; it’s a clash of generations.
Okada, the undisputed ace of NJPW, has been the standard-bearer of the company for over a decade. His technical mastery, charisma, and ability to deliver in the biggest moments have solidified his legacy as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. However, the Rainmaker is facing a new breed of challenger in Shota Umino.
Umino, the son of NJPW legend Yuji Nagata, has been on a meteoric rise. Dubbed the “Shooting Star,” Umino has captured the hearts of fans with his fiery passion, relentless work ethic, and undeniable talent. After a series of standout performances in 2024, Umino earned his shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, and he’s determined to dethrone the Rainmaker.
The stakes couldn’t be higher. For Okada, it’s about proving that he’s still the king of the mountain. For Umino, it’s about cementing his place as the future of NJPW. The Tokyo Dome will be electric as these two warriors collide in what promises to be an instant classic.
IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship: Hiromu Takahashi (c) vs. El Desperado
The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship will be defended in what is sure to be a high-octane, fast-paced thriller. Hiromu Takahashi, the “Ticking Time Bomb,” is one of the most charismatic and unpredictable performers in wrestling today. His wild antics and daredevil style have made him a fan favorite, but he’ll face a formidable challenge in El Desperado.
El Desperado, the masked warrior of Suzuki-gun, is a master of mind games and technical wrestling. His rivalry with Takahashi dates back years, and their matches have always been nothing short of spectacular. With both men at the peak of their powers, this encounter could steal the show.
Expect high-flying maneuvers, brutal strikes, and a healthy dose of chaos as these two juniors leave it all in the ring.
Never Openweight Championship: Tetsuya Naito (c) vs. Taichi
The Never Openweight Championship will be on the line as Tetsuya Naito defends his title against Taichi. This match is a clash of styles and personalities. Naito, the leader of Los Ingobernables de Japon, is known for his tranquilo demeanor and unorthodox in-ring style. Taichi, on the other hand, is a brash, no-nonsense competitor who will do whatever it takes to win.
Their rivalry has been simmering for months, with both men trading victories and insults. Taichi has vowed to bring an end to Naito’s reign, while Naito has promised to prove that he’s still the king of the Never division. With pride, gold, and bragging rights on the line, this match is sure to be a hard-hitting affair.
Special Singles Match: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Will Ospreay
In a dream match that has fans salivating, Hiroshi Tanahashi will go one-on-one with Will Ospreay. Tanahashi, the “Ace” of NJPW, is a living legend whose career has been defined by his ability to rise to the occasion. Ospreay, the “Aerial Assassin,” is one of the most gifted athletes in wrestling today, with a style that blends high-flying acrobatics with technical precision.
This match is a battle of generations. Tanahashi represents the old guard, a symbol of NJPW’s past glory. Ospreay represents the future, a beacon of what’s to come. Their clash will be a masterclass in storytelling and in-ring psychology, as both men look to prove who truly is the best.
Tag Team Showdown: FTR vs. Bishamon
The tag team division will take center stage as FTR, one of the best tag teams in the world, takes on Bishamon, the reigning IWGP Tag Team Champions. FTR, known for their old-school, no-nonsense style, have made it clear that they’re in NJPW to dominate. Bishamon, comprised of Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI, have been on a roll, proving that they’re a force to be reckoned with.
This match is a clash of styles. FTR’s technical prowess and hard-hitting offense will be put to the test against Bishamon’s chemistry and resilience. With tag team gold potentially on the line, this match could have major implications for the division.
The Wildcard: Jay White’s Open Challenge
One of the most intriguing aspects of CRAZY FEST 2025 is Jay White’s open challenge. The “Switchblade” has promised to face anyone who dares to step up, and rumors are swirling about who might answer the call. Will it be a returning legend? A rising star? Or perhaps a surprise debut?
Jay White is one of the most cunning and dangerous competitors in NJPW, and his open challenge adds an element of unpredictability to the event. Whoever steps up will have their work cut out for them, as White is determined to prove that he’s still the top gaijin in the company.
The Undercard: Showcasing the Future
While the main card is stacked with marquee matches, the undercard is equally important. It’s a chance for NJPW’s young lions and rising stars to showcase their skills on the grandest stage. Matches featuring the likes of Yota Tsuji, Yuya Uemura, and Gabriel Kidd are sure to deliver high-energy action and give fans a glimpse of the future.

What are your predictions for CRAZY FEST 2025? Who will walk out of the Tokyo Dome with gold, and who will be left in the shadows? Let us know in the comments below!
Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight

Really don’t like that it’s the Women’s NXT North American Championship. Besides being an awkward mouthful, it’s too derivative of Men’s midcard title.
