The Concept: Reliving WWE’s Greatest Hits
WWE has always been about storytelling. From the larger-than-life characters to the epic battles inside the ring, WWE has created moments that have transcended wrestling and become part of pop culture. WWE’s Greatest Moments Live is a tribute to those moments, but with a twist.
Instead of simply replaying old footage, WWE is bringing these moments to life. Imagine seeing The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin face off once more, or witnessing the Undertaker’s streak in all its glory. But that’s not all. The event will also feature current superstars recreating these iconic moments, adding their own flair and making them relevant for today’s audience.
This is more than nostalgia; it’s a bridge between generations. It’s a chance for long-time fans to relive their favorite memories and for new fans to experience the magic that made WWE a global phenomenon.
The Matches: A Clash of Eras
The card for WWE’s Greatest Moments Live is stacked with dream matches, surprise appearances, and battles that will redefine WWE history. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store:
1. The Rock vs. Roman Reigns: The Battle of the Bloodline
This is the match everyone’s talking about. The Rock, arguably the most electrifying man in sports entertainment, returns to the ring to face his cousin, Roman Reigns, the reigning Tribal Chief and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
The story writes itself. The Rock represents the past, the golden era of WWE, while Roman Reigns embodies the present and future. But this isn’t just about family; it’s about legacy. Who is the true head of the table? Who will cement their place in WWE history?
Expect fireworks, both in the ring and on the mic. The Rock’s charisma and Roman’s dominance make this a must-see showdown.
2. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Seth Rollins: The Texas Rattlesnake vs. The Visionary
Stone Cold Steve Austin, the beer-swilling, middle-finger-flashing anti-hero of the Attitude Era, is back for one more match. And his opponent? None other than Seth Rollins, the self-proclaimed Visionary of WWE.
This is a clash of styles and generations. Stone Cold’s brawling, no-nonsense approach versus Seth’s high-flying, technical prowess. But it’s also a battle of ideologies. Stone Cold represents rebellion, while Seth represents evolution.
Will the Texas Rattlesnake prove that old school still rules, or will Seth Rollins show that the future is now?
3. The Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt: A Battle of Darkness
The Undertaker, the Phenom, the Deadman, is back to face Bray Wyatt, the Eater of Worlds. This is a match steeped in mysticism and psychological warfare.
The Undertaker’s eerie presence and Bray Wyatt’s mind games make this a battle unlike any other. Will the Undertaker’s experience and aura be enough to overcome Bray’s unpredictability? Or will Bray Wyatt cement his place as the new face of fear in WWE?
4. Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus: The Man vs. The Legend
Becky Lynch, The Man, has been a trailblazer for women’s wrestling. But on March 9th, she’ll face one of the pioneers of the women’s revolution: Trish Stratus.
This is more than just a match; it’s a passing of the torch. Trish Stratus paved the way for women like Becky Lynch to main-event shows and steal the spotlight. But Becky isn’t just here to pay homage; she’s here to prove that she’s the best in the world.
Expect a hard-hitting, emotionally charged match that will leave the WWE Universe on the edge of their seats.
5. John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes: The Face of WWE vs. The American Nightmare
John Cena, the 16-time world champion and the face of WWE for over a decade, returns to face Cody Rhodes, the American Nightmare and the man who brought WWE back to its roots.
This is a battle of ideologies. John Cena represents the PG era, the era of hustle, loyalty, and respect. Cody Rhodes represents the new era, the era of storytelling, legacy, and authenticity.
Who will come out on top? The man who carried WWE on his back for years, or the man who’s leading it into the future?
The Moments: Reliving the Magic
While the matches are the heart of WWE’s Greatest Moments Live, the moments are the soul. Here are some of the iconic moments that will be recreated on March 9th:
- Hulk Hogan Body Slamming Andre the Giant: The moment that defined WrestleMania III will be recreated by two of WWE’s biggest stars.
- Shawn Michaels’ Iconic WrestleMania Entrance: The Heartbreak Kid’s legendary zip line entrance will be brought back, complete with pyrotechnics and fanfare.
- The Montreal Screwjob: One of the most controversial moments in WWE history will be reenacted, with a modern twist.
- KofiMania: Kofi Kingston’s emotional WWE Championship win at WrestleMania 35 will be celebrated, with Kofi himself in attendance.
The Surprises: Expect the Unexpected
No WWE event is complete without surprises, and WWE’s Greatest Moments Live promises to deliver. Rumors are swirling about potential debuts, returns, and shocking twists. Will CM Punk make an appearance? Will Brock Lesnar return to wreak havoc? Will we see the next generation of WWE superstars step into the spotlight?
One thing’s for sure: you won’t want to miss a single second of this event.

Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight

Really don’t like that it’s the Women’s NXT North American Championship. Besides being an awkward mouthful, it’s too derivative of Men’s midcard title.
