DID YOU ENJOY WWE WRESTLEMANIA XL 40 2024 ON APRIL 6TH 2024?
7/10 is about right,
same rating I gave, Night Two’s card is looking very strong, I think we’re gonna have a damn great Sunday night folks
Honestly I feel 7.3/10 is low.
I felt underwhelmed in the middle but the last two matches really made up for it. I think a lot of people got discouraged by the middle two matches and let that detract from the rest of the show. Probably recency bias, but the main event may be my new favorite match.
The Uso match was legitimately one
of the worst Wrestlemania matches I’ve ever seen. I have no idea what their thought process was there. Overall I thought the show dragged pretty hard in the middle, but the first two matches and last two matches were excellent, which is what really matters. Fun show but night 2 can definitely top it by being more consistent in quality and delivering some of the big moments and surprises we come to expect from Wrestlemania.
I think the crowd will be fine in terms of not booing Cody.
That was more about the Rock than Roman.
Also it was cold, so I think that contributed to the quiteness of the crowd on top of the open air arena.
Frankly they should have swapped the mania and summerslam locations. I don’t understand being in an outdoor arena in April anywhere outside of CA, FL, TX…
We were super loud in the stadium it just didn’t translate well.
Also like said below, very cold, very windy. I know it said 48 by end of the night but coming from cleveland it felt a lot colder than that especially up in the 200s
I think 7/10 is fair.
Was overall a good night. Only Jimmy and Jey under delivered really. Everything else was serviceable to great.
One thing I will say that detracted from the quality for me last night was the crowd and I’m not entirely sure it was even their fault. It’s sad when they go to 20,000 seat areas and the place is electric and then for the biggest nights in the calendar it sounds like they’re performing in a library because all the sound vanishes into the atmosphere.
Also please Philly don’t be super smarky. I don’t want a chorus of boos raining down on Cody when he finally wins and that being what the moment is remembered for.

Maybe a flat tire on the ride home, then have someone drive through a big puddle nearby while they’re changing the flat and they get soaked, and they wake up tomorrow with a cold and have to sell their night 2 tickets that I assume they have.
Just have Cody overcome the odds on his own.
These Codyvengers people. Do you want Cody’s win to be permanently marred by needing help to overcome Roman?
Was Mankind’s WWE Title win marred by DX helping him? No.
Ideally, the “Codyvengers” will eliminate the Bloodline threat. Jey taking out Jimmy. Cena taking out Solo. Austin taking out Rock.
Cody will then beat Roman. Nothing marred about that.
Considering Austin hit Rock
with a chair and draped Foley’s limp body over him to win Foley the title…yeah.
Sure, it led to Foley being treated like less of a joke at the time, but it mostly fueled the Rock/Austin storyline.
Not happening.
They just used a match tonight to establish anything goes rules.
Kayfabe is a facade but having Cody overcome 4 people – including the Rock – is absolutely ridiculous.
Philly booed him enough tonight. They booed all of them.
They will make changes for tomorrow to ensure that doesn’t happen again.
Cody overcoming against all of them tomorrow would have Philly booing them all out of the building and be more dead than they were tonight.
For everyone thinking Rock will turn on Roman tomorrow,
you think that’s enough to turn around the crowd tomorrow if they’re like the way they were tonight?
No way. You gotta try and get Philly to pop in a memorable way.
I feel like HHH and everyone behind the scenes will take a look at the reactions tonight and pivot if they need to.
So it’ll be the Codyvengers: Jey, and then the Rock’s biggest foes: Cena will come back too.
They already established anything goes with the win tonight. Cody can’t realistically win clean now.
And while I think this was always the plan anyway, I think tonight’s crowd will be enough to get them to really make the nostalgia play. That glass will shatter tomorrow and the Texas Rattlesnake will come back one final time to face his greatest foe and take Rock out so Cody can get somewhat clean win over Roman.

Mania 29 didn’t have a women’s match on the show
the other Manias surrounding it was a tag or multiwoman throwaway match. They would never have been trusted to open the show. Glad how far things have come.

Wrestling has come full circle for me this year.
My nine year old picked the last year to get super into wrestling. Moana was her favorite Disney movie when she was younger so worlds have crossed.
We surprised her with tickets for the Chicago Raw a couple weeks ago. Up to that point, they were just advertising Rock for the Brooklyn Raw. So, when we were walking in, she asked if he’d be there and I told her no. When his music hit and he came back, just seeing her reaction gave me a rush of what the magic of wrestling can bring. It instantly took me back to when my dad took me to the Raw that Jericho made his debut.
Wrestlemania season is always special, but this year has changed everything getting to experience it with her.
