The Stage is Set: What Makes WWE Rivals Live Special?
WWE Rivals Live is not your average pay-per-view. It’s a unique event that focuses solely on the most intense, personal, and historic rivalries in WWE. These are the matches that have defined careers, shattered alliances, and left fans on the edge of their seats. The 2025 edition of Rivals Live is no exception, as it brings together a mix of legendary feuds and fresh conflicts that have been brewing for months—or even years.
The event will take place at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City, a venue steeped in WWE history. From Hulk Hogan’s legendary battles to The Rock’s electrifying promos, MSG has been the backdrop for some of WWE’s most unforgettable moments. On March 9th, 2025, it will once again play host to a night of chaos, drama, and jaw-dropping action.
The Match Card: A Closer Look
Let’s dive into the matches that will define WWE Rivals Live 3/9/25. Each bout has been carefully crafted to deliver maximum excitement, with rivalries that have been building for months—or in some cases, decades.
1. Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes: The Final Chapter
The rivalry between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes has been one of the most personal and intense in recent WWE history. It all started at WrestleMania 40, where Cody famously dethroned Roman to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. However, their story didn’t end there.
Over the past year, Roman has been on a mission to reclaim his throne, while Cody has fought tooth and nail to prove that his victory was no fluke. Their matches have been nothing short of spectacular, blending technical mastery with raw emotion. At WWE Rivals Live, they will face off in a No Holds Barred match, where anything goes. Will Cody solidify his legacy as the face of WWE, or will Roman Reigns reclaim his spot at the top of the mountain?
2. Becky Lynch vs. Rhea Ripley: The Clash of Generations
Becky Lynch, “The Man,” has been a cornerstone of WWE’s women’s division for years. Rhea Ripley, on the other hand, represents the new generation of WWE Superstars—brash, bold, and unapologetically dominant. Their rivalry has been simmering for months, with both women trading victories and insults in equal measure.
At WWE Rivals Live, they will go head-to-head in a Last Woman Standing match. This brutal stipulation ensures that only one woman will walk away victorious. Will Becky prove that she’s still the queen of the division, or will Rhea cement her status as the future of WWE?
3. Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk: The Battle of Ideologies
Seth Rollins and CM Punk couldn’t be more different. Rollins is the ultimate company man, a workhorse who has carried WWE on his back for years. Punk, on the other hand, is the rebellious anti-hero who has never been afraid to speak his mind.
Their rivalry began when Punk returned to WWE in 2024, immediately targeting Rollins and accusing him of being a “corporate puppet.” The tension has been building ever since, with both men delivering scathing promos and brutal matches. At WWE Rivals Live, they will face off in a 60-Minute Iron Man match, a true test of endurance, skill, and willpower. Who will emerge victorious in this clash of ideologies?
4. The Usos vs. The Hardy Boyz: A Dream Match for the Ages
The Usos have long been regarded as one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history. The Hardy Boyz, meanwhile, are legends in their own right, with a legacy that spans decades. When The Hardy Boyz made their surprise return to WWE in late 2024, fans immediately began clamoring for a dream match between these two iconic teams.
At WWE Rivals Live, they will finally go head-to-head in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match. Expect high-flying action, jaw-dropping spots, and a healthy dose of nostalgia as these two teams battle for tag team supremacy.
5. Gunther vs. Brock Lesnar: The Beast vs. The Ring General
Gunther’s record-breaking Intercontinental Championship reign has solidified him as one of the most dominant forces in WWE. Brock Lesnar, meanwhile, needs no introduction. “The Beast Incarnate” is a living legend, a force of nature who has destroyed everyone in his path.
When Gunther called out Lesnar in early 2025, fans knew this match was inevitable. At WWE Rivals Live, they will collide in a match that promises to be a brutal, hard-hitting affair. Will Gunther’s technical prowess be enough to overcome Lesnar’s raw power, or will The Beast prove that he’s still the most dangerous man in WWE?
The Undercard: More Rivalries to Watch
While the main card is stacked, the undercard is equally exciting. Here are a few matches that are sure to deliver:
- LA Knight vs. Logan Paul: The Battle of the Megastars
LA Knight’s rise to superstardom has been nothing short of meteoric. Logan Paul, meanwhile, has proven that he’s more than just a social media star—he’s a legitimate WWE Superstar. Their rivalry has been fueled by personal insults and a desire to prove who the true “megastar” is. - Bianca Belair vs. Charlotte Flair: The Queen vs. The EST
Two of WWE’s most dominant female Superstars will collide in a match that promises to be a show-stealer. Bianca Belair’s strength and athleticism will be put to the test against Charlotte Flair’s technical mastery and unrelenting drive. - Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio: Father vs. Son, One Last Time
The Mysterio family saga has been one of the most emotional storylines in WWE history. At WWE Rivals Live, Rey and Dominik will face off in what could be the final chapter of their storied rivalry.

Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight
