AEW Dynamite Live 4/9/25: The Ultimate Preview of What’s to Come on April 9th, 2025

The anticipation is palpable. The stakes are higher than ever. All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is set to deliver yet another explosive episode of Dynamite on April 9th, 2025, and if the rumors, teasers, and recent developments are anything to go by, this could be one of the most unforgettable nights in AEW history. Whether you’re a die-hard AEW fan or a casual viewer, this episode promises to be a rollercoaster of emotions, jaw-dropping moments, and edge-of-your-seat action. Let’s dive deep into what we know so far, what to expect, and why this episode of Dynamite is a must-watch.

The Stage is Set: AEW Dynamite on April 9th, 2025

AEW has consistently raised the bar for professional wrestling, blending athleticism, storytelling, and larger-than-life characters into a product that feels fresh and exciting. The April 9th episode of Dynamite is no exception. With the road to Double or Nothing 2025 heating up, this episode is poised to be a pivotal moment in AEW’s calendar. From championship showdowns to personal vendettas, the card is stacked with matches and segments that will leave fans talking for weeks to come.

Confirmed Matches and Segments (So Far)

While AEW is known for its surprises, several matches and segments have already been confirmed for the April 9th episode. Here’s a breakdown of what’s officially on tap:

1. AEW World Championship Match: MJF (c) vs. Adam Cole – One Last Time?

The rivalry between MJF and Adam Cole has been nothing short of epic. From their early days as uneasy allies to their brutal battles over the AEW World Championship, these two have defined AEW in 2024 and 2025. MJF, the self-proclaimed “Devil,” has held the title for over a year, using every trick in the book to retain his gold. But Adam Cole, the resilient and beloved fan favorite, has vowed to dethrone MJF once and for all.

This match is being billed as “One Last Time,” with both men promising to end the other’s career. Will MJF’s cunning and underhanded tactics secure another victory, or will Adam Cole finally achieve his dream of becoming AEW World Champion? The stakes couldn’t be higher, and the emotional weight of this match is sure to resonate with fans worldwide.

2. TBS Championship Match: Jamie Hayter (c) vs. Thunder Rosa

Jamie Hayter has been a dominant force in the women’s division, holding the TBS Championship with an iron grip. But Thunder Rosa, the former AEW Women’s World Champion, is determined to reclaim her spot at the top of the division. This match promises to be a hard-hitting, fast-paced encounter, with both women known for their intensity and technical prowess.

Will Hayter continue her reign of dominance, or will Thunder Rosa prove that she’s still one of the best in the world? This match could easily steal the show.

3. Tag Team Turmoil: The Young Bucks vs. FTR vs. The Acclaimed – #1 Contender’s Match

The AEW Tag Team Division is arguably the best in the world, and this triple-threat match is a testament to that. The Young Bucks, FTR, and The Acclaimed are three of the most talented and popular teams in AEW, and they’ll collide to determine the next challengers for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

Expect high-flying maneuvers, technical mastery, and plenty of drama as these teams leave it all in the ring. The chemistry between these teams is undeniable, and this match could easily be a show-stealer.

4. Chris Jericho’s “Festival of Friendship 2.0”

Chris Jericho has promised a major announcement on the April 9th episode of Dynamite, and rumors are swirling about what it could be. Some speculate that Jericho will unveil a new faction, while others believe he’ll challenge for a championship. One thing is certain: whenever Jericho is involved, entertainment is guaranteed.

The original “Festival of Friendship” is one of the most memorable segments in AEW history, and if Jericho is bringing it back, fans can expect the unexpected.

5. Swerve Strickland vs. Darby Allin – Grudge Match

Swerve Strickland and Darby Allin have been at each other’s throats for weeks, with their rivalry escalating into a personal war. Both men are known for their willingness to push their bodies to the limit, and this match is expected to be a brutal, high-stakes encounter.

Will Swerve’s cunning and athleticism prevail, or will Darby’s unrelenting spirit and daredevil style secure the victory? This is a match you won’t want to miss.

What Else to Expect: Rumors, Surprises, and Speculation

While the confirmed matches and segments are enough to get any fan excited, AEW is known for its surprises. Here are some rumors and speculations about what could go down on April 9th:

1. The Return of CM Punk?

The wrestling world has been buzzing about the possibility of CM Punk returning to AEW. While nothing has been confirmed, some fans believe that the April 9th episode of Dynamite could be the perfect time for Punk to make his comeback. Whether as a surprise entrant, a run-in, or a promo, Punk’s return would undoubtedly send shockwaves through the industry.

2. A New Challenger for Samoa Joe?

Samoa Joe has been a dominant AEW TNT Champion, but rumors suggest that a new challenger could emerge on April 9th. Could it be a returning star, a rising talent, or perhaps even a surprise debut? Whoever steps up to face Joe will have their work cut out for them.

3. The Next Chapter in the Blackpool Combat Club Saga

The Blackpool Combat Club has been one of the most dominant factions in AEW, but recent tensions between Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, and Claudio Castagnoli have fans wondering if the group is on the verge of a breakup. Will the April 9th episode shed light on the future of the BCC?

4. A Major Debut or Return?

AEW has a history of delivering surprise debuts and returns, and the April 9th episode could be no exception. Whether it’s a former WWE star, an international talent, or a familiar face making their return, the possibilities are endless.

Why This Episode Matters

Very good show

March 11, 2025

I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw

Ezra

Very good episode,

March 11, 2025

imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.

Rowan

Great episode.

March 11, 2025

Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.

They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner

Hudson

Very good show

March 11, 2025

honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.

Willie

Great episode.

March 11, 2025

The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match

Gary

Great show

March 10, 2025

Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.

Gerald

Very good show

March 10, 2025

You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.

This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.

The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.

Frank

Great show

March 10, 2025

So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.

The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!

And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.

Evelyn

Great show.

March 10, 2025

I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.

Storm vs. May

Mox vs. Cope

Hangman vs. MJF

Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners

Takeshita vs. Omega

Swerve vs. Ricochet

Okada vs. King

Mone vs. Watanabe

Ospreay vs. Fletcher

Willie

Great episode.

March 10, 2025

Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.

it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.

Christian

Very good show

March 10, 2025

I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.

Oliver

Great show.

March 10, 2025

I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.

Noah
