By WatchWrestling – Pro Wrestling Blog Extraordinaire

The Road to Glory: BEST OF THE SUPER Jr. 32 Heats Up!

The stage is set. The lights are bright. The junior heavyweights of New Japan Pro-Wrestling are ready to tear the house down once again in the most prestigious tournament in their division—BEST OF THE SUPER Jr. 32.

On May 27th, 2025, the tournament continues with another explosive night of high-flying, hard-hitting, and heart-stopping action. The stakes? A shot at the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship, eternal bragging rights, and the chance to etch their name into the history books alongside legends like Jushin Thunder Liger, Tiger Mask, and Will Ospreay.

This is your ultimate live online preview—breaking down every match, analyzing the tournament standings, and predicting who will rise, who will fall, and who will shock the world.

Tournament Standings & Current Landscape

Before diving into the May 27th card, let’s take stock of where we are in the tournament. The BEST OF THE SUPER Jr. 32 is a round-robin format, meaning every competitor faces each other in their block, with the top point-scorers advancing to the finals.

As of now, the competition is wide open. Some expected frontrunners are dominating, while dark horses are making unexpected surges. Here’s a quick snapshot:

Block A Standings (Pre-May 27th)

  • El Desperado (4-1) – 8 Points – The veteran is on a warpath, proving why he’s one of the most dangerous juniors in history.
  • SHO (3-2) – 6 Points – House of Torture’s cunning strategist is lurking, ready to cheat his way to victory.
  • Francesco Akira (3-2) – 6 Points – The Italian high-flyer is turning heads with his explosive offense.
  • TJP (2-3) – 4 Points – The technical mastermind needs a big win to stay alive.
  • Blake Christian (1-4) – 2 Points – The high-risk daredevil is struggling but always one move away from an upset.

Block B Standings (Pre-May 27th)

  • Hiromu Takahashi (4-1) – 8 Points – The “Ticking Time Bomb” is living up to his name, delivering chaos in every match.
  • Robbie Eagles (3-2) – 6 Points – The “Sniper of the Skies” is picking off opponents with surgical precision.
  • YOH (3-2) – 6 Points – The underdog is proving he belongs among the elite.
  • Clark Connors (2-3) – 4 Points – The LA Dojo bruiser is bringing the fight, but can he claw his way back?
  • Ninja Mack (1-4) – 2 Points – The masked sensation is struggling but always a threat with his unpredictable style.

With only a few nights left before the semifinals, every match matters. The May 27th card could make or break several competitors’ chances.

May 27th, 2025 – Full Match Card & Predictions

Match 1: El Desperado vs. Blake Christian (Block A)

The Story So Far:
El Desperado is on fire, using his brutal strikes, cunning submissions, and psychological warfare to dismantle opponents. Meanwhile, Blake Christian has had a rough tournament, with only one win so far, but his daredevil style means he’s always a threat.

What to Expect:
Desperado will look to ground Blake early, targeting his legs to neutralize his aerial game. Blake, however, will try to keep the pace fast, hitting Desperado with springboards, flips, and sudden roll-ups.

Prediction:
Desperado is too experienced to let this slip. He’ll bait Blake into a mistake, lock in the Numero Dos, and force the submission.

Winner: El Desperado (10 Points – Almost Guaranteed a Semifinal Spot)

Match 2: SHO vs. TJP (Block A)

The Story So Far:
SHO has been sneaky as ever, using every dirty trick in the book to stay in contention. TJP, meanwhile, has been frustratingly inconsistent, showing flashes of brilliance but failing to close out key matches.

What to Expect:
This will be a chess match—TJP’s technical mastery vs. SHO’s underhanded tactics. Expect wrestling counters, referee distractions, and possible interference from House of Torture.

Prediction:
SHO will cheat to win, possibly using a wrench or low blow when the ref isn’t looking. TJP will come close, but the numbers game will be too much.

Winner: SHO (8 Points – Still in the Hunt)

Match 3: Francesco Akira vs. ??? (Block A – Mystery Opponent)

The Wildcard:
NJPW has teased a mystery opponent for Akira. Speculation is running wild—could it be a returning Kushida? A surprise international talent?

What to Expect:
If it’s a legendary return, the crowd will erupt. If it’s a debut, Akira will have to adapt on the fly. Either way, expect lightning-fast exchanges and near falls.

Prediction:
Akira pulls off the win, keeping his semifinal hopes alive.

Winner: Francesco Akira (8 Points – Still Alive!)

Match 4: Hiromu Takahashi vs. Ninja Mack (Block B)

The Story So Far:
Hiromu is unstoppable right now, demolishing everyone in his path. Ninja Mack, despite his athleticism, has struggled to pick up wins.

What to Expect:
Pure chaos. Ninja Mack will throw every flip, spin, and strike he knows, but Hiromu will absorb the punishment and fire back with his signature Time Bomb lariats and Dynamite Plungers.

Prediction:
Hiromu wins, further cementing his dominance.

Winner: Hiromu Takahashi (10 Points – Semifinals Locked In?)

Match 5: Robbie Eagles vs. YOH (Block B)

The Story So Far:
Both men are tied at 6 points, making this a must-win for both. Eagles’ technical brilliance vs. YOH’s resilient fighting spirit.

What to Expect:
technical masterpiece—leg locks, counters, and fast-paced reversals. This could steal the show.

Prediction:
Eagles edges it out with the Ron Miller Special, forcing YOH to tap.

Winner: Robbie Eagles (8 Points – Still in the Running)

Match 6: Clark Connors vs. ??? (Block B – Mystery Opponent)

The Wildcard:
Another mystery opponent—could this be a returning Ryusuke Taguchi? A debuting AEW talent?

What to Expect:
Connors will bring the brute strength, but if it’s a veteran, they’ll use experience to outmaneuver him.

Prediction:
Connors gets a hard-fought win, keeping his slim hopes alive.

Winner: Clark Connors (6 Points – Last Chance?)

Final Thoughts: Who’s Heading to the Semifinals?

After May 27th, the tournament landscape will look something like this:

Block A Outlook:

  • El Desperado (10 pts) – Almost guaranteed to advance.
  • SHO (8 pts) – Needs one more win.
  • Francesco Akira (8 pts) – Must win out.
  • TJP (4 pts) – Likely eliminated.
  • Blake Christian (2 pts) – Out of contention.

Block B Outlook:

  • Hiromu Takahashi (10 pts) – Semifinals bound.
  • Robbie Eagles (8 pts) – Needs one more victory.
  • YOH (6 pts) – Must win out.
  • Clark Connors (6 pts) – Needs a miracle.
  • Ninja Mack (2 pts) – Eliminated.

Why You CAN’T Miss May 27th

  • Hiromu’s dominance – Will he continue his path of destruction?
  • Mystery opponents – Who will shock the world?
  • Semifinal implications – Every match matters now!
  • Show-stealing performances – Expect at least one Match of the Year contender.

Final Verdict: Tune In or Miss History!

The BEST OF THE SUPER Jr. 32 is reaching its boiling point, and May 27th could decide who moves forward and who goes home. Will Desperado and Hiromu solidify their dominance? Will a surprise entrant shake things up? Will Robbie Eagles or YOH make a last-ditch push for glory?

One thing is certain: You do NOT want to miss this.

Hello Watchwrestling

I just found your site, quick question…

My name’s Eric, and I recently discovered your site – Watchwrestling – while surfing the net. You showed up at the top of the search results, so I checked you out. Looks like what you’re doing is pretty cool.

But if you don’t mind me asking – after someone like me stumbles across Watchwrestling, what usually happens?

Is your site generating leads for your business?

I’m guessing some, but I also bet you’d like more… research indicates that 7 out of 10 who land on a site wind up leaving without a trace.

Not good.

Here’s an idea…

How about making it really easy for every visitor who shows up to get a personal phone call from you as soon as they hit your site…

You can –

LeadConnect is a software widget that works on your site, ready to capture any visitor’s Name, Email address, and Phone Number. It notifies you immediately – so that you can talk to that lead while they’re literally looking over your site.

https://blastleadgeneration.com to try out a Live Demo with Web Visitors Into Leads now to see exactly how it works.

You’ll be amazed – the difference between contacting someone within 5 minutes versus 30 minutes later could boost your results 100-fold.

It gets even better… once you’ve captured their phone number, with our new SMS Text With Lead feature, you can instantly start a text (SMS) conversation.

That way, even if you don’t close a deal right away, you can follow up with text messages for new offers, content links, even just how you are doing? notes to build a relationship.

Pretty sweet – AND effective.

Hello Watchwrestling Owner!

My name’s Eric and I just came across your website at Watchwrestling…

I found it after a quick search, so your SEO’s working out…

Content looks pretty good…

One thing’s missing though…

A QUICK, EASY way to connect with you NOW.

Because studies show that a web lead like me will only hang out a few seconds – 7 out of 10 disappear almost instantly, Surf Surf Surf… then gone forever.

I have the solution:

Web Visitors Into Leads is a software widget that works on your site, ready to capture any visitor’s Name, Email address, and Phone Number. You’ll know immediately they’re interested and you can call them directly to TALK with them – literally while they’re still on the web looking at your site.

https://resultleadgeneration.com to try out a Live Demo with Web Visitors Into Leads now to see exactly how it works and even give it a try… it could be huge for your business.

When targeting leads, you HAVE to act fast – the difference between contacting someone within 5 minutes versus 30 minutes later can be huge – like 100 times better!

That’s why you should check out our new SMS Text With Lead feature as well… once you’ve captured the phone number of the website visitor, you can automatically kick off a text (SMS) conversation with them.

Imagine how powerful this could be – even if they don’t take you up on your offer immediately, you can stay in touch with them using text messages to make new offers, provide links to great content, and build your credibility.

Just this alone could be a game changer to make your website even more effective.

Strike when the iron’s hot!

Eric Jones

Very good show

March 11, 2025

I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw

Ezra

Very good episode,

March 11, 2025

imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.

Rowan

Great episode.

March 11, 2025

Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.

They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner

Hudson

Very good show

March 11, 2025

honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.

Willie

Great episode.

March 11, 2025

The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match

Gary

Great show

March 10, 2025

Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.

Gerald

Very good show

March 10, 2025

You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.

This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.

The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.

Frank

Great show

March 10, 2025

So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.

The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!

And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.

Evelyn

Great show.

March 10, 2025

I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.

Storm vs. May

Mox vs. Cope

Hangman vs. MJF

Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners

Takeshita vs. Omega

Swerve vs. Ricochet

Okada vs. King

Mone vs. Watanabe

Ospreay vs. Fletcher

Willie

Great episode.

March 10, 2025

Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.

it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.

Christian

Very good show

March 10, 2025

I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.

Oliver

Great show.

March 10, 2025

I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.

Noah
