NJPW BEST OF THE SUPER Jr. 32 (2025) Live Online Preview: The Ultimate Junior Heavyweight Showdown

*The most electrifying tournament in professional wrestling is back—NJPW’s Best of the Super Jr. 32 (2025) promises to deliver heart-stopping action, high-flying drama, and career-defining moments. For over three decades, this tournament has showcased the fastest, most innovative, and most daring junior heavyweights in the world. And now, in 2025, the stage is set for another unforgettable chapter.*

In this exclusive live online preview, we’ll break down everything you need to know: the competitors, the must-see matchups, the potential upsets, and where you can catch every second of the action. Whether you’re a longtime NJPW fan or a newcomer to the Best of the Super Jr. magic, this is your ultimate guide to the tournament that will redefine junior heavyweight wrestling.

What is the Best of the Super Jr.?

Before we dive into this year’s edition, let’s take a quick look at the history of this legendary tournament.

  • Debuted in 1988, the Best of the Super Jr. (BOSJ) was created to highlight NJPW’s junior heavyweight division, featuring a round-robin format where wrestlers compete for points (2 for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss).
  • Past winners include icons like Jushin Thunder Liger, Tiger Mask, Prince Devitt (Finn Bálor), Will Ospreay, Hiromu Takahashi, and El Desperado.
  • The winner earns a shot at the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship, often headlining Dominion or Wrestle Kingdom.

This year’s BOSJ 32 is shaping up to be one of the most stacked lineups ever, blending established legends, rising stars, and surprise international entrants.

The 2025 Best of the Super Jr. 32 Participants: Who’s In?

While the full roster won’t be confirmed until NJPW’s official announcement, we can make some educated predictions based on recent storylines, returns, and rumors. Here’s our breakdown of the likely competitors:

1. The Returning Champions & Tournament Veterans

  • Hiromu Takahashi – The “Ticking Time Bomb” is a three-time BOSJ winner (2018, 2020, 2022) and one of the most unpredictable forces in the division. Will he reclaim his throne?
  • El Desperado – The masked warrior is a two-time winner (2021, 2023) and a master of hard-hitting, technical brutality.
  • Master Wato – The “Grand Master” has been on the cusp of greatness—could 2025 be his breakout year?
  • Robbie Eagles – Australia’s high-flying technician is always a threat, blending speed and submission mastery.
  • YOH – After years of chasing glory, will this be the year YOH finally wins it all?

2. The Rising Stars Ready to Shock the World

  • Francesco Akira – The Italian Speedball has been turning heads with his explosive offense.
  • TJP (TJ Perkins) – A veteran with endless innovation, TJP could be a dark horse candidate.
  • Clark Connors – The “Wild Rhino” brings raw power to the junior division—can he bulldoze his way to victory?
  • Kevin Knight – The Jet of NJPW has been ascending rapidly—could this be his star-making run?

3. The Wildcards & Surprise Entrants

  • Lio Rush – If the “Man of the Hour” returns, his combination of speed and charisma could steal the show.
  • Blake Christian – A standout from the U.S. indie scene, Christian could be a breakout star.
  • Ninja Mack – The viral high-flyer would be a perfect fit for BOSJ’s daredevil style.
  • AEW/ROH Crossover? – Could we see a surprise like Dante Martin, El Hijo del Vikingo, or Komander make an appearance?

Key Storylines & Potential Matchups to Watch

1. Hiromu Takahashi’s Quest for History

If Hiromu wins, he’ll tie Koji Kanemoto’s record of four BOSJ victories. Every match he’s in will be must-see, especially against rivals like El Desperado and Master Wato.

2. The Battle of Speed vs. Power

How will high-flyers like Francesco Akira and Kevin Knight fare against bruisers like Clark Connors and El Desperado? The clash of styles will be thrilling.

3. The International Invasion

With rumors of Lio Rush, Ninja Mack, and AEW talent appearing, this could be the most globally diverse BOSJ yet.

4. The Dark Horse Run

Every year, someone shocks the world—will it be YOH, Robbie Eagles, or a surprise debut?

Predictions: Who Will Win BOSJ 32?

While it’s impossible to know for sure, here are our top three picks:

1. Hiromu Takahashi

  • Why? He’s the heart of the division, and a fourth win would cement his legacy.
  • Roadblock: El Desperado or a hungry newcomer could stop him.

2. Kevin Knight

  • Why? NJPW has been pushing him hard, and a win would make him a new top star.
  • Roadblock: Lack of experience in big tournament finals.

3. Lio Rush (If He Enters)

  • Why? His return would be massive, and his in-ring style is perfect for BOSJ.
  • Roadblock: Possible contract limitations.

How to Watch NJPW Best of the Super Jr. 32 (2025) Live Online

Don’t miss a second of the action! Here’s where you can catch BOSJ 32:

  • NJPW World – The official streaming service will broadcast every match live and on-demand.
  • FITE TV – Some events may be available for international fans.
  • PPV Options – Major tournament finals could be offered as standalone PPVs.

Final Thoughts: Why BOSJ 32 Could Be the Best Yet

The Best of the Super Jr. is more than just a tournament—it’s a celebration of wrestling at its most innovative, intense, and breathtaking. With a mix of veterans, rising stars, and potential surprise entrants, BOSJ 32 (2025) could go down as one of the greatest in history.

Will Hiromu Takahashi make history? Will a new star rise to the top? Or will an international sensation steal the spotlight? One thing’s for sure—you won’t want to miss it.

Stay tuned for more updates, match announcements, and in-depth analysis as we count down to NJPW Best of the Super Jr. 32!

Very good show

March 11, 2025

I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw

Ezra

Very good episode,

March 11, 2025

imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.

Rowan

Great episode.

March 11, 2025

Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.

They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner

Hudson

Very good show

March 11, 2025

honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.

Willie

Great episode.

March 11, 2025

The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match

Gary

Great show

March 10, 2025

Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.

Gerald

Very good show

March 10, 2025

You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.

This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.

The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.

Frank

Great show

March 10, 2025

So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.

The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!

And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.

Evelyn

Great show.

March 10, 2025

I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.

Storm vs. May

Mox vs. Cope

Hangman vs. MJF

Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners

Takeshita vs. Omega

Swerve vs. Ricochet

Okada vs. King

Mone vs. Watanabe

Ospreay vs. Fletcher

Willie

Great episode.

March 10, 2025

Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.

it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.

Christian

Very good show

March 10, 2025

I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.

Oliver

Great show.

March 10, 2025

I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.

Noah
