WWE SmackDown Live 4/4/25: A Night of Chaos, Glory, and Unforgettable Moments – Live Online Preview
The WWE Universe is buzzing with anticipation as we gear up for one of the most electrifying nights in sports entertainment: WWE SmackDown Live on April 4th, 2025. This isn’t just another episode of SmackDown; this is a night where rivalries will reach their boiling point, legends will collide, and new stars will rise to the occasion. With WrestleMania season in full swing, the stakes have never been higher, and the drama has never been more intense. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or a newcomer to the world of WWE, this is one event you won’t want to miss. So, grab your popcorn, settle into your favorite spot, and let’s dive into what promises to be an unforgettable night of action, drama, and pure adrenaline.
The Road to WrestleMania Heats Up
As we inch closer to WrestleMania 41, every episode of SmackDown becomes a critical piece of the puzzle. The April 4th edition of SmackDown is no exception. This is the final stop before the Grandest Stage of Them All, and the WWE Superstars are pulling out all the stops to secure their spot on the WrestleMania card. From championship showdowns to personal vendettas, the storylines are reaching their peak, and the tension is palpable.
One of the most anticipated matches of the night is the clash between Universal Champion Roman Reigns and his challenger, Cody Rhodes. The Tribal Chief has been on a historic run, dominating the WWE landscape for years, but Cody Rhodes has emerged as a formidable opponent. After winning the Royal Rumble earlier this year, Rhodes has been laser-focused on dethroning Reigns and cementing his own legacy. The question on everyone’s mind is: Can Cody finally finish the story, or will Roman Reigns continue his reign of terror?
The Women’s Division Takes Center Stage
The women of WWE have been stealing the show week after week, and SmackDown on April 4th will be no different. Charlotte Flair, the reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion, is set to defend her title against the rising star Rhea Ripley. Flair, a 14-time champion, is no stranger to the spotlight, but Ripley’s raw power and unrelenting determination make her a dangerous opponent. This match has all the makings of a classic, and it could very well steal the show.
But the women’s division doesn’t stop there. Bayley and her faction, Damage CTRL, have been wreaking havoc on SmackDown, and their feud with Bianca Belair and Naomi is far from over. Expect some explosive moments as these four women collide in a tag team match that could have major implications for WrestleMania.
Tag Team Turmoil
The tag team division is also heating up, with the Usos defending their SmackDown Tag Team Championships against the high-flying duo of Ricochet and Braun Strowman. The Usos have been on a roll, but Ricochet’s athleticism and Strowman’s brute strength make them a unique and unpredictable challenge. Will the Usos retain their titles, or will we see new champions crowned just days before WrestleMania?
The Return of a Legend
Rumors have been swirling about a surprise appearance by a WWE legend, and all signs point to The Rock making his return to SmackDown. The Great One has been teasing a comeback for months, and with WrestleMania just around the corner, it’s the perfect time for him to step back into the ring. Whether he’s there to set up a match or simply to electrify the crowd, The Rock’s presence is sure to send shockwaves through the WWE Universe.

- Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley: Two of the most dominant women in WWE history go head-to-head in what promises to be a hard-hitting, high-stakes match. Will Charlotte’s experience and technical prowess be enough to overcome Rhea’s raw power and intensity?
- The Usos vs. Ricochet & Braun Strowman: The tag team division is on fire, and this match could be the spark that ignites an even bigger explosion. Expect high-flying action, brutal power moves, and plenty of drama.
- The Rock’s Return: Whether he’s there to confront Roman Reigns, set up a WrestleMania match, or simply to electrify the crowd, The Rock’s presence is sure to be a highlight of the night.

Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight

Really don’t like that it’s the Women’s NXT North American Championship. Besides being an awkward mouthful, it’s too derivative of Men’s midcard title.
