WWE Smackdown 3rd November 2023 Results: Rey Mysterio and Logan Paul Face Off Before Crown Jewel
WWE Smackdown delivered the final hype for the upcoming Crown Jewel event, featuring a weigh-in between Rey Mysterio and Logan Paul, a Donnybrook Rules Match, and more. Here are the highlights and results from the show.
Kevin Owens def. Austin Theory
The show kicked off with a match between Kevin Owens and Austin Theory, who made his Smackdown debut last week by attacking Owens. The two had a competitive back-and-forth match, with Owens showing his veteran savvy and Theory displaying his athleticism and arrogance. Owens eventually hit the Stunner on Theory for the win, but Theory attacked him after the match and posed with his phone.
Charlotte Flair and Shotzi Blackheart def. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven
The Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair teamed up with Shotzi Blackheart, who returned last week to save Flair from an assault by IYO SKY and Bayley. They faced Chelsea Green and Piper Niven, who were making their Smackdown debut as a tag team. Flair and Blackheart worked well together, despite their differences, and dominated most of the match. Flair made Green tap out to the Figure Eight, while Blackheart took out Niven with a missile dropkick.
Rey Mysterio and Logan Paul Weigh-In
The United States Champion Rey Mysterio and the YouTube sensation Logan Paul had a weigh-in before their title match at Crown Jewel. Paul was accompanied by his brother Jake Paul, while Mysterio had his son Dominik by his side. Paul mocked Mysterio for being small and unworthy of holding the U.S. Title, while Mysterio said he would teach Paul a lesson in respect. Paul weighed in at 199 pounds, while Mysterio weighed in at 175 pounds. Paul then shoved Mysterio, but Mysterio retaliated with a 619, sending Paul flying off the stage.
Pretty Deadly def. The Brawling Brutes in a Donnybrook Rules Match
The Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland and Butch) and Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) settled their score in a Donnybrook Rules Match, which allowed the use of weapons and no disqualifications. The match was a chaotic brawl, with both teams using chairs, tables, kendo sticks, and more. The Brawling Brutes seemed to have the upper hand, until Prince hit Butch with a low blow and Wilson smashed a guitar over Holland’s head. Pretty Deadly then pinned Holland for the victory.
Bianca Belair def. Bayley
The main event of the night saw Bianca Belair take on Bayley, who was part of Damage CTRL along with IYO SKY. Belair and Bayley had a history of rivalry, dating back to their Hell in a Cell match earlier this year. The match was a showcase of Belair’s power and speed, and Bayley’s cunning and resilience. Bayley tried to use every dirty trick in the book, including using the ropes, the ring apron, and even SKY’s interference. However, Belair overcame the odds and hit the KOD on Bayley for the win. After the match, SKY attacked Belair from behind and hit her with the Sky High, standing tall with the WWE Women’s Title.
