DID YOU ENJOY AEW COLLISION ON JANUARY 27 2024?

Kelly’s definitely improving

January 28, 2024

and I thought he and Kingston were fantastic during Danielson/Nagata. Really liked how they both set him up and talked about his background and accomplishments in NJPW and his amateur career, too. Good stuff.

Also, Kelly did the AEW podcast a month ago or so and acknowledged about how he was having trouble getting used to the demands of live US television again. When to transition to ad breaks, having to plug other stuff during a match, the fast paced nature of the matches and the formatting, etc. It was interesting to hear how aware he was of his shortcomings and what he needed to work on.

Patrick

Schiavone being there to shoulder being

January 28, 2024

the lead announcer and let Kelly shift over to basically playing the Mike Tenay-esque expert/analyst role is one of the smartest decisions they made with Collision. The chemistry is so much more natural, and Tony and Kevin have the same kind of “two guys who have been around forever” comradery that Tony and Taz have on Dynamite.

Alexander

I think Kevin Kelly deserves some praise.

January 28, 2024

He got so much stick when he joined Collision, but since learning the roster and switching to a three-man booth, he’s been a real asset. Think Kelly, Schiavone and McGuinness work really well together. Noticed a while back how much better he sounds and wanted to acknowledge his improvement.

Gregory

That cage match was awesome,

January 28, 2024

although I got the sense with how it ended that we may not be seeing the House of Black (sans Julia of course) for a long time.

Samuel

Absolutely.

January 28, 2024

Bryan/Nagata and the cage match main event alone were WAY more entertaining than the vast majority of that meh, utterly predictable (and not in a good way) “PLE” (fuckin hate that term)

Benjamin

show won’t get much attention

January 28, 2024

sad this show won’t get much attention bc of the rumble, but this was a much much better show

Brandon

I’m sold on Mariah May.

January 28, 2024

She has everything you want in a top female star. Plus, Deeb, Deonna, hopefully Sasha, and a returning Hayter soon has me really excited for the women’s division this year.

Scott

That was a fantastic cage match!

January 28, 2024

I’m so glad DG is starting to get some real momentum, he was one of the young guys I really liked in the early days.

Justin

It’s still crazy to me seeing Bryan vs Nagata in 2024.

January 28, 2024

The cage match was awesome even tho I ain’t much of a fan that in order to win, all members of the team must escape the cage.

Larry

The Julia Hart most spot with Garcia pretty much tells me it isn’t.

January 28, 2024

I didn’t want this match to be the blow off, since I think there is more to go here heading to Revolution.

Stephen

I cannot wait.

Clash of Titans and Cages: AEW Collision 1/27/24 – A Night of Bloody Mayhem and Unbreakable Will

The air crackled with anticipation, a storm brewing in the Brookshire Grocery Arena on January 27th, 2024. This wasn’t just any Saturday night; it was AEW Collision, a crucible where champions were forged, rivalries ignited, and boundaries shattered. And oh boy, did it deliver!

From the opening bell to the final crimson curtain, AEW Collision was a symphony of chaos and athleticism. It was a night etched in blood, sweat, and tears, where legends clashed, new stars rose, and the very fabric of professional wrestling strained to contain the unbridled passion.

Steel Cage Slaughter: A Dance with the Devil

The night’s main event was a spectacle of brutality – an Escape the Cage Elimination Trios Match pitting the unholy alliance of FTR and Daniel Garcia against the formidable House of Black. From the first clang of the cage door, the intensity was palpable. The House of Black, draped in their gothic aura, moved with the precision of predators, while FTR and Garcia, fueled by desperation and grit, fought with the tenacity of cornered wolves.

Chairs became weapons, bodies became projectiles, and the cage itself transformed into a torture chamber. Dax Harwood soared from the top rope, a human missile obliterating the House of Black with a devastating crossbody. Brody King countered with a bone-crunching Bossman Slam, Malakai Black wove a web of dark magic, and Daniel Garcia, a crimson-stained warrior, bled for every inch of the ring.

The eliminations came fast and furious. John Silver and Preston Vance, valiant but ultimately outmatched, succumbed to the House of Black’s onslaught. Ethan Page, caught in a crossfire of fury, was ejected by the nefarious Malakai. But FTR and Garcia refused to yield. They scaled the unforgiving steel, each clang a testament to their unyielding spirit, and with a final, desperate heave, they sent the remaining House of Black crashing back to the canvas.

Victorious, battered, and bloodied, FTR and Garcia stood atop the wreckage. The cage door creaked open, not as a release, but as a portal to even greater challenges. The scars they bore were not badges of shame, but battle cries, a warning to the entire AEW roster: this was their territory, and they would defend it with every drop of their blood.

Collision of Champions: Where Gold is Forged and Tested

AEW Collision wasn’t just about cages and carnage. It was also a night where champions were tested and new contenders emerged. The AEW International Championship, held with nonchalant cool by Orange Cassidy, was in the crosshairs of Komander, a masked luchador with a burning hunger for gold.

Their clash was a whirlwind of athleticism and high-flying acrobatics. Komander’s aerial assaults were met with Cassidy’s signature nonchalance, a dance of disrespect and calculated counters. But the challenger was relentless, his desperation fueling his every move. Near falls were met with gasps from the crowd, the tension thick enough to cut with a blade.

In the end, however, experience prevailed. Cassidy, with a well-timed Orange Punch, sent Komander crashing back to the canvas, retaining his title and proving that sometimes, a laid-back approach is the most effective one.

But the night wasn’t over for Komander. As he stood backstage, battered but unbowed, the Undisputed Kingdom materialized, their eyes gleaming with a predatory hunger. Roddy Strong, the former champion, offered him a challenge: Revolution, a chance to prove himself once again. Komander, the fire still burning in his eyes, accepted without hesitation. The stage was set for another epic clash, another chapter in the ongoing saga for the International Championship.

Bloody Triumphs and Seeds of Rebellion

AEW Collision wasn’t just about champions and contenders; it was about the stories that unfold beneath the spotlight. Eddie Kingston, the embodiment of raw emotion, battled Matt Sydal in a brutal display of grit and determination. Each strike resonated with the weight of past grudges, each lock a testament to their unwavering resolve. In the end, Kingston emerged victorious, his eyes blazing with a fire that promised even greater conflicts to come.

And then there was Bryan Danielson, the technical master, facing off against the ever-resilient Erick Redbeard. Their match was a chess game of holds and counters, a masterclass in submission grappling. Danielson, with his methodical precision, seemed on the verge of victory, but Redbeard, fueled by the roar of the crowd, refused to yield. In a moment of stunning defiance, he locked Danielson in his signature Bear Trap, a submission that seemed to bend reality itself.

Main Event: World Championship: Hangman Adam Page vs. MJF

The animosity between these two rivals is as thick as the most intense wrestling rivalry. Their last encounter was a barn-burner, with Hangman barely retaining his gold. Tonight, the stakes are higher, the pressure heavier. This clash of styles, of philosophies, is the main course of the evening, and every bite promises to be a gut-wrenching thrill ride.

Tag Team Turmoil: A Maelstrom of Mayhem

This ain’t your mama’s tag team match. This is a chaotic kaleidoscope of high-flying acrobatics, bone-crunching power moves, and tag team chemistry that crackles like electricity in the ring. Picture high-flying duos like the Lucha Bros and Private Party soaring through the air, Jungle Boy unleashing his feral instincts alongside the dinosaur fury of Luchasaurus, and the established powerhouses like Santana & Ortiz and Death Triangle proving their dominance. Throw in the unpredictable wild cards and you’ve got a recipe for mayhem that will leave you dizzy and exhilarated. Who will emerge victorious from this high-stakes tag team scramble? Will established duos prove their dominance, or will a surprise alliance shock the world? Buckle up, folks, because this is gonna be a wild ride.

Women’s Championship: Thunder Rosa vs. Britt Baker, D.M.D.

The fire and fury in this rivalry burns brighter than any spotlight. Thunder Rosa, the Latina powerhouse, is all about raw emotion and unyielding grit. Britt Baker, the polished dentist with a sadistic streak, is a master of mind games and technical prowess. Their last encounter was a bloody brawl, and tonight promises to be no different. Can Thunder Rosa retain her hard-earned championship, or will Britt Baker finally sink her teeth into the gold? This clash of titans is a battle for not just the title, but for the very soul of the AEW women’s division. Prepare for a war, ladies and gentlemen, because these two won’t hold back.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! AEW Collision is jam-packed with thrilling matchups, from the high-flying antics of Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin to the hard-hitting brawls of Eddie Kingston and Wardlow. Fans will be treated to a showcase of global wrestling talent, a smorgasbord of athleticism and storytelling that transcends borders and languages.
