AEW Collision Live 4/5/25: The Ultimate Preview of Wrestling’s Most Explosive Night
The stage is set, the stakes are high, and the wrestling world is buzzing with anticipation. On April 5, 2025, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) returns with another electrifying edition of AEW Collision, promising to deliver a night of jaw-dropping action, unforgettable moments, and storylines that will leave fans talking for weeks to come. Whether you’re a die-hard AEW fan or a casual viewer, this event is shaping up to be one of the most explosive nights in professional wrestling this year.
In this comprehensive preview, we’ll dive deep into the matches, rivalries, and surprises that await us on April 5. From championship clashes to personal vendettas, AEW Collision Live is poised to deliver everything that makes AEW the most exciting promotion in wrestling today. So, grab your popcorn, settle in, and let’s break down what’s in store for this monumental event.
The Main Event: A World Championship Showdown
At the heart of every great wrestling event is a main event that captures the imagination of the audience, and AEW Collision Live on April 5 is no exception. The AEW World Championship will be on the line as the reigning champion, Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF), defends his title against the relentless challenger, Kenny Omega.
MJF, the self-proclaimed “Devil,” has been on a historic run as champion, using his cunning tactics and underhanded strategies to outlast every challenger. But Kenny Omega, the “Best Bout Machine,” is no ordinary opponent. After returning from injury earlier this year, Omega has been on a mission to reclaim the title he once held and solidify his legacy as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.
The build-up to this match has been nothing short of spectacular. MJF has taunted Omega at every turn, questioning his resilience and mocking his past failures. Omega, on the other hand, has remained laser-focused, vowing to expose MJF for the coward he truly is. With both men at the peak of their abilities, this match has all the makings of an instant classic. Will MJF’s mind games be enough to retain the title, or will Omega’s unparalleled in-ring prowess prove too much for the champion?
The Tag Team Division Heats Up: FTR vs. The Young Bucks
The tag team division in AEW has always been a cornerstone of the promotion, and on April 5, two of the greatest teams in wrestling history will collide once again. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) will face off against The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) in a match that promises to be a masterclass in tag team wrestling.
These two teams have a storied history, with each bout pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the ring. Their rivalry has been defined by mutual respect, fierce competition, and a desire to prove who truly is the best tag team in the world. This time, the stakes are even higher, as both teams are vying for a future shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
FTR’s old-school, hard-hitting style contrasts perfectly with The Young Bucks’ high-flying, innovative offense. With both teams known for their ability to tell compelling stories in the ring, this match is sure to be a highlight of the night. Will FTR’s technical prowess and chemistry be enough to overcome The Young Bucks’ speed and creativity? Or will the Jackson brothers once again prove why they’re considered one of the most revolutionary teams in wrestling history?
A Grudge Match for the Ages: CM Punk vs. “Hangman” Adam Page
Few rivalries in AEW have captured the imagination of fans quite like the ongoing feud between CM Punk and “Hangman” Adam Page. What started as a clash of ideologies has escalated into a deeply personal war, with both men determined to prove who is the better wrestler—and who truly represents the soul of AEW.
Punk, the veteran with a chip on his shoulder, has accused Page of being overrated and undeserving of his past success. Page, the former AEW World Champion, has fired back, calling Punk a hypocrite who cares more about his own legacy than the future of the company. Their promos have been fiery, their brawls have been intense, and their upcoming match at AEW Collision Live is expected to be the culmination of their bitter rivalry.
This match is more than just a battle for bragging rights—it’s a fight for the heart and soul of AEW. Both men have everything to prove, and neither is willing to back down. With their contrasting styles and undeniable chemistry, this grudge match has all the ingredients to be a show-stealer.
The Women’s Division Shines: Thunder Rosa vs. Jamie Hayter
The AEW women’s division has been on a meteoric rise in recent years, and the match between Thunder Rosa and Jamie Hayter at AEW Collision Live is a testament to the depth and talent of the roster. Both women are former AEW Women’s World Champions, and both are determined to reclaim the title and cement their status as the face of the division.
Thunder Rosa, known for her hard-hitting style and unrelenting aggression, has been on a warpath since returning from injury. Jamie Hayter, with her powerhouse offense and undeniable charisma, has been equally dominant, earning the respect of fans and peers alike.
This match is more than just a battle for supremacy—it’s a clash of styles and personalities. Thunder Rosa’s intensity and technical skill will be put to the test against Hayter’s raw power and resilience. With both women at the top of their game, this match is sure to be a standout moment of the night.
The Rising Stars: A Showcase of AEW’s Future
One of the things that sets AEW apart is its commitment to showcasing young talent, and AEW Collision Live will feature several matches highlighting the promotion’s rising stars. From high-flying daredevils to technical wizards, these matches are a glimpse into the future of professional wrestling.
Keep an eye on Daniel Garcia, Wheeler Yuta, and Skye Blue as they continue to make waves in AEW. Their matches may not have the same star power as the main events, but they are just as important in shaping the future of the company.
The X-Factor: What Surprises Await?
If there’s one thing AEW is known for, it’s its ability to deliver surprises. Whether it’s a shocking debut, an unexpected return, or a twist in the storyline, AEW Collision Live is sure to have its fair share of jaw-dropping moments.
Could we see the return of a former champion? Will a new alliance be formed, or will an old rivalry be reignited? The possibilities are endless, and that’s what makes AEW so exciting.

Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight
