AEW Dynasty 2025 Preview: The Biggest Pay-Per-View Event of the Year Goes Down April 6th!
By [Your Name], AEW Insider & Elite Wrestling Analyst
The Stage Is Set for AEW Dynasty 2025 – A Night of Chaos, Glory, and Unforgettable Moments
All Elite Wrestling is gearing up for one of its most explosive pay-per-view events of the year—AEW Dynasty 2025! On Sunday, April 6th, 2025, the wrestling world will descend upon a sold-out arena (location TBA) for a night of high-stakes matches, shocking betrayals, and championship showdowns that will redefine the landscape of professional wrestling.
With AEW’s track record of delivering show-stealing performances, Dynasty 2025 is shaping up to be an instant classic. From dream matches to long-awaited grudge bouts, this PPV has it all. So, let’s break down every confirmed match, analyze the rivalries, and predict the outcomes in this must-read preview!
Confirmed Matches & Breakdowns
1. AEW World Championship: “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson (c) vs. “The Rated R Superstar” Adam Copeland
The Story So Far:
Bryan Danielson has been on an absolute tear since reclaiming the AEW World Championship, dismantling every challenger with his technical mastery. But Adam Copeland, a man who has seen and done it all, is not just another opponent. After months of mind games, near-falls, and brutal brawls, Copeland has earned his shot at the title.
Why This Match Matters:
This is a clash of two legends—one a submission wizard, the other a hardcore icon. Both men are in the twilight of their careers, but neither is willing to go quietly. Expect a 30-minute classic filled with false finishes, dramatic nearfalls, and possibly even a retirement stipulation looming in the background.
Prediction: Bryan Danielson retains after a grueling battle, but Copeland’s legacy is further cemented.
2. AEW Women’s World Championship: “Timeless” Toni Storm (c) vs. “The CEO” Mercedes Moné
The Story So Far:
Toni Storm has reinvented herself as the glamorous, chaotic “Timeless” champion, but Mercedes Moné’s arrival in AEW has shaken the division to its core. Moné, one of the most decorated women in wrestling history, has made it clear—she’s here to dominate.
Why This Match Matters:
This is a dream match pitting Storm’s unhinged charisma against Moné’s elite in-ring prowess. The contrast in styles guarantees fireworks. Will Storm’s unpredictable antics be enough to counter Moné’s precision? Or will Moné finally claim the gold she’s been chasing since her AEW debut?
Prediction: Mercedes Moné dethrones Toni Storm, ushering in a new era for the AEW women’s division.
3. AEW Tag Team Championship: The Young Bucks (c) vs. FTR
The Story So Far:
The greatest tag team rivalry of the modern era continues. The Young Bucks, now fully embraced as villains, have cheated their way to victory over FTR multiple times. But at Dynasty, there are no disqualifications—meaning FTR can finally fight fire with fire.
Why This Match Matters:
This could be the final chapter in their storied feud. Both teams are at their peak, and with no rules, expect tables, ladders, chairs, and possibly even blood. The Bucks’ high-flying offense vs. FTR’s old-school brutality will make this an all-time classic.
Prediction: FTR finally regains the titles, ending the Bucks’ reign of terror.
4. TNT Championship Ladder Match: “The Patriarch” Christian Cage (c) vs. “Absolute” Ricky Starks vs. Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Swerve Strickland
The Story So Far:
Christian Cage has held the TNT Championship hostage with his manipulative tactics, but now he must defend it in a high-risk ladder match against three hungry challengers. Ricky Starks wants revenge, Hobbs wants destruction, and Swerve Strickland wants to solidify his main-event status.
Why This Match Matters:
Ladder matches are AEW’s specialty, and this one will be brutal. Christian’s mind games won’t mean much when four men are fighting mid-air for gold. Expect career-defining spots and a potential star-making performance from Swerve.
Prediction: Swerve Strickland climbs the ladder to claim his first singles gold in AEW.
5. Grudge Match: “The Ocho” Chris Jericho vs. Will Ospreay
The Story So Far:
Chris Jericho, the veteran mastermind, has taken exception to Will Ospreay’s rapid rise in AEW. After weeks of verbal jabs and sneak attacks, Ospreay demanded this match to prove he’s the better man.
Why This Match Matters:
This is a passing of the torch opportunity. Ospreay, one of the best in the world, against Jericho, one of the greatest ever. If Ospreay wins decisively, it cements him as AEW’s next megastar.
Prediction: Will Ospreay defeats Jericho clean, signaling a new era.
6. Trios Championship: The House of Black (c) vs. The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn
The Story So Far:
The House of Black’s reign of darkness has been dominant, but The Acclaimed have the crowd behind them. With Billy Gunn by their side, can they overcome Malakai Black’s mind games?
Why This Match Matters:
This is a classic fan favorites vs. sinister villains showdown. The House of Black thrives in chaos, but The Acclaimed’s energy could be the X-factor.
Prediction: The House of Black retains, but The Acclaimed put up a hell of a fight.
Shocking Possibilities & Last-Minute Surprises
AEW never fails to deliver unexpected twists, and Dynasty 2025 will be no different. Here’s what could go down:
- MJF’s Return? – The former AEW World Champion has been absent since losing the title. Could he make a shocking comeback?
- Sting’s Final Appearance? – The Icon has teased retirement. Will Dynasty be his last hurrah?
- New Signings? – AEW loves debuts. Could a WWE or NJPW star appear?
Final Thoughts: Why AEW Dynasty 2025 Can’t Be Missed
This isn’t just another PPV—it’s a historic night that could reshape AEW’s future. With legendary clashes, title changes, and potential surprises, Dynasty 2025 is must-see wrestling.
Don’t miss it—Sunday, April 6th, 2025, live on PPV!
What do you think will happen at AEW Dynasty? Let us know in the comments!
Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight
