WWE Evolve April 9th, 2025 Preview: A Night of High-Stakes Action and Unstoppable Momentum

The WWE Universe is buzzing with anticipation as WWE Evolve returns on April 9th, 2025, promising an explosive night of high-octane matches, shocking twists, and career-defining moments. Evolve has always been the platform where future superstars shine, rivalries intensify, and championships are defended with relentless aggression. This year’s event is no exception—stacked with must-see matchups that could reshape the landscape of WWE.

From rising NXT call-ups to established main roster stars looking to prove their dominance, Evolve 2025 is set to deliver an unforgettable spectacle. In this in-depth preview, we’ll break down every confirmed match, analyze potential surprises, and predict which Superstars will leave with their legacies cemented.

Main Event: NXT Championship – Trick Williams (c) vs. Carmelo Hayes

The Ultimate Betrayal Comes Full Circle

The NXT Championship will headline WWE Evolve 2025 in a match dripping with personal animosity. Trick Williams, the reigning champion, will defend his title against his former best friend turned bitter rival, Carmelo Hayes.

This feud has been building for months, ever since Hayes shockingly turned on Williams after a hard-fought battle last year. The betrayal sent shockwaves through NXT, and now, at Evolve, these two will settle the score in what could be the match of the night.

What to Expect:

  • High-flying vs. Powerhouse Styles – Hayes is one of the smoothest in-ring technicians in WWE, while Williams has evolved into a dominant force with explosive strength.
  • Mind Games & Outside Interference? – Given their history, will someone else get involved? Could we see a surprise return or a new alliance form?
  • A Potential Show-Stealer – Both men have undeniable chemistry, and this could be a career-defining performance for the winner.

Prediction: Trick Williams retains after a brutal back-and-forth war, but Hayes’ obsession with the title ensures this feud isn’t over yet.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship – The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) (c) vs. Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne)

Experience vs. Ruthless Ambition

The Kabuki Warriors have been on a dominant run since reuniting, but Toxic Attraction is hungry to reclaim the gold they once held. Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne have been terrorizing the women’s division, and at Evolve, they’ll look to dethrone the legendary duo.

Why This Match Matters:

  • Asuka & Kairi’s Legacy – Two of the most decorated women in WWE history are looking to cement their latest reign.
  • Toxic Attraction’s Redemption – After losing the titles last year, Dolin and Jayne have been on a warpath, using underhanded tactics to climb back up.
  • High-Octane Tag Team Action – Expect fast-paced sequences, devastating tandem moves, and possible interference from other factions.

Prediction: The Kabuki Warriors retain, but Toxic Attraction’s viciousness ensures this isn’t their last opportunity.

Grudge Match: Bron Breakker vs. Baron Corbin

The Wolf vs. The Lone Wolf – A Clash of Titans

Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin have been at each other’s throats for weeks, with Corbin claiming that Breakker is “overhyped” and living off his family name. Breakker, meanwhile, has vowed to destroy Corbin and prove why he’s the future of WWE.

Key Factors:

  • Powerhouse Collision – Both men are bruisers who thrive in hard-hitting fights.
  • Corbin’s Mind Games – Will he resort to dirty tactics to outsmart Breakker?
  • Breakker’s Rage – If Corbin pushes him too far, we could see an even more aggressive side of Bron.

Prediction: Breakker wins clean, but Corbin attacks him after the bell, setting up a future rematch.

NXT North American Championship – Oba Femi (c) vs. Dragon Lee

The Unstoppable Force Meets the High-Flying Phenom

Oba Femi has been an absolute monster since winning the North American Championship, demolishing every challenger in his path. But at Evolve, he faces his toughest test yet—Dragon Lee, a luchador with unmatched speed and agility.

What Makes This Must-See?

  • David vs. Goliath Dynamic – Can Lee outmaneuver Femi’s raw power?
  • Femi’s Dominance – If he retains, who can possibly stop him?
  • Show-Stealing Potential – This could be a Match of the Year candidate if both men bring their A-game.

Prediction: Oba Femi retains, but Lee earns his respect in a thrilling contest.

Special Attraction Match: Ilja Dragunov vs. Samoa Joe – No Holds Barred

The Mad Dragon vs. The Samoan Submission Machine

This is a dream match that nobody knew they needed. Ilja Dragunov’s relentless intensity against Samoa Joe’s brutal submission mastery in a No Holds Barred war? Yes, please.

Why This Will Be Violent & Unforgettable:

  • Stiff Strikes & Chokes – Both men hit hard and love to punish their opponents.
  • No Rules, No Mercy – Weapons, brawling outside the ring, and pure chaos guaranteed.
  • Possible Main Roster Implications – Could the winner get called up to Raw or SmackDown?

Prediction: Samoa Joe wins after a brutal back-and-forth, but Dragunov’s stock rises even in defeat.

Undercard Matches & Potential Surprises

NXT Tag Team Championship – The Creed Brothers (c) vs. The Dyad

  • The Creeds’ power vs. The Dyad’s mind games. Prediction: The Creed Brothers retain.

Women’s Showcase Match – Roxanne Perez vs. Lash Legend

  • A battle of speed vs. strength. Prediction: Roxanne Perez wins with her signature Pop Rox.

Breakout Star Open Challenge – Nathan Frazer

  • Frazer has been on a roll—who will step up? Potential Surprise: A returning Wes Lee or a new NXT signee.

Final Thoughts: Why WWE Evolve 2025 Is a Can’t-Miss Event

Very good show

March 11, 2025

I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw

Ezra

Very good episode,

March 11, 2025

imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.

Rowan

Great episode.

March 11, 2025

Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.

They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner

Hudson

Very good show

March 11, 2025

honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.

Willie

Great episode.

March 11, 2025

The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match

Gary

Great show

March 10, 2025

Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.

Gerald

Very good show

March 10, 2025

You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.

This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.

The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.

Frank

Great show

March 10, 2025

So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.

The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!

And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.

Evelyn

Great show.

March 10, 2025

I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.

Storm vs. May

Mox vs. Cope

Hangman vs. MJF

Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners

Takeshita vs. Omega

Swerve vs. Ricochet

Okada vs. King

Mone vs. Watanabe

Ospreay vs. Fletcher

Willie

Great episode.

March 10, 2025

Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.

it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.

Christian

Very good show

March 10, 2025

I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.

Oliver

Great show.

March 10, 2025

I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
