AEW Dynamite Live 4/2/25: The Ultimate Preview of What’s to Come on April 2nd, 2025
The anticipation is palpable. The energy is electric. The stage is set for yet another explosive episode of AEW Dynamite, and this one promises to be a night for the history books. On April 2nd, 2025, All Elite Wrestling returns to your screens with a live event that will leave fans on the edge of their seats, screaming for more. Whether you’re tuning in from the comfort of your living room or joining the roaring crowd in the arena, this episode of Dynamite is shaping up to be an unforgettable spectacle.
From jaw-dropping matches to shocking twists, AEW continues to redefine what professional wrestling can be. So, let’s dive deep into what we know so far, what we can expect, and why this episode of Dynamite is a must-watch for any wrestling fan.
The Build-Up: AEW’s Road to April 2nd
AEW has always been a promotion that thrives on long-term storytelling, and the road to April 2nd has been no exception. Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen rivalries intensify, alliances crumble, and new stars emerge. The company has masterfully woven together multiple storylines, ensuring that every segment of the show feels meaningful and connected.
One of the most compelling narratives heading into this episode is the ongoing feud between “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes and Malakai Black. Their rivalry has been nothing short of cinematic, with each encounter escalating in intensity. Rhodes, the eternal fan favorite, has been pushed to his limits by the enigmatic and sinister Black. Will Cody finally overcome the darkness, or will Malakai continue to torment him?
Meanwhile, the AEW World Championship picture has never been hotter. Current champion MJF has been on a tear, solidifying his status as one of the most despicable—and entertaining—heels in the business. But his reign is far from secure. Challengers like Kenny Omega, Hangman Adam Page, and even a resurgent CM Punk are lurking in the shadows, ready to dethrone the self-proclaimed “Salt of the Earth.”
And let’s not forget the tag team division, which has been firing on all cylinders. The Young Bucks and FTR have been trading verbal barbs and physical blows, setting the stage for what could be another classic encounter. With so much at stake, the tag team titles are more prestigious than ever.
Confirmed Matches and Segments
While AEW is known for its surprises, several matches and segments have already been confirmed for the April 2nd episode of Dynamite. Here’s a breakdown of what’s officially on the card:
1. AEW World Championship Match: MJF (c) vs. Darby Allin
MJF’s reign as champion has been marked by cunning, cheating, and sheer arrogance. But Darby Allin is a different kind of challenger. The daredevil underdog has never backed down from a fight, and his unrelenting spirit makes him a legitimate threat to MJF’s title. Will Darby’s high-risk style be enough to topple the champion, or will MJF find yet another underhanded way to retain his gold?
2. Tag Team Grudge Match: The Young Bucks vs. FTR
This is a rivalry that needs no introduction. The Young Bucks and FTR have been at each other’s throats for years, and their matches are always show-stealers. With both teams claiming to be the best in the world, this grudge match is about more than just bragging rights—it’s about legacy. Expect fast-paced action, innovative double-team maneuvers, and plenty of drama.
3. Women’s World Championship Eliminator Match: Thunder Rosa vs. Jamie Hayter
The AEW women’s division continues to shine, and this eliminator match is a testament to its depth. Thunder Rosa, the fiery luchadora, will take on the hard-hitting Jamie Hayter in a bout that promises to be as physical as it is technical. The winner will earn a future shot at the Women’s World Championship, adding even more stakes to this already high-pressure matchup.
4. Cody Rhodes vs. Malakai Black – No Disqualifications
The bitter feud between Cody Rhodes and Malakai Black reaches its boiling point in a No Disqualifications match. With no rules to hold them back, both men will have the freedom to unleash their full arsenal of weapons and tactics. This match has the potential to be a brutal, bloody affair, and it could very well be the final chapter in their storied rivalry.
5. Chris Jericho’s Festival of Friendship 2.0
Chris Jericho has promised something “spectacular” for this episode of Dynamite, and rumors are swirling that it could be a sequel to his infamous “Festival of Friendship” from years ago. The original event ended in betrayal and chaos, so what does Jericho have in store this time? Will it be a celebration, a setup, or something entirely unexpected? One thing’s for sure: you won’t want to miss it.
What to Expect: Predictions and Speculations
While the confirmed matches are enough to get any fan excited, AEW is known for its surprises. Here are some predictions and speculations for what could go down on April 2nd:
1. The Return of a Legend
AEW has a knack for bringing back familiar faces at just the right moment. Could we see the return of a legend like Sting, Bryan Danielson, or even The Undisputed Elite? The possibilities are endless, and the pop from the crowd would be deafening.
2. A Shocking Betrayal
In AEW, alliances are often fleeting, and betrayals are a staple of the promotion’s storytelling. Could we see a tag team split, a mentor turning on their protégé, or a stable imploding? Keep an eye on factions like The Blackpool Combat Club and The House of Black—anything can happen.
3. A Debut or Signing
AEW has become a landing spot for some of the biggest names in wrestling, and the April 2nd episode could feature a major debut or signing. Whether it’s a free agent from another promotion or a rising star from the independent scene, AEW loves to keep fans guessing.
4. A Cliffhanger Ending
AEW Dynamite often ends with a cliffhanger that leaves fans buzzing until the next episode. Will it be a shocking title change, a surprise appearance, or a dramatic twist in an ongoing storyline? Whatever it is, it’s sure to set the internet ablaze.

Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight

Really don’t like that it’s the Women’s NXT North American Championship.
Really don’t like that it’s the Women’s NXT North American Championship. Besides being an awkward mouthful, it’s too derivative of Men’s midcard title.
