Dwayne Johnson has announced that he will be returning to the Fast & Furious franchise. He made the announcement on Twitter on June 1, 2023. In his tweet, he said:
“So I am 100% confirming to you guys around the world that yes, it is true. Hobbs is back. Hobbs is back in the Fast & Furious franchise.”
Johnson’s return to the franchise comes after a long hiatus. He last appeared in the franchise in 2017’s The Fate of the Furious. He had previously clashed with Vin Diesel, the star of the franchise, over creative differences. However, it appears that the two have put their differences aside and are ready to work together again.
Johnson’s return to the franchise is a major coup for Universal Pictures. He is one of the biggest box office stars in the world, and his presence in the Fast & Furious movies is sure to boost ticket sales. The next installment in the franchise, Fast X, is scheduled to be released in May 2024.
