WWE WrestleMania IX Becoming a Spectacle 2025: A Live Online Preview
By WatchWrestling – Renowned WWE Blogger & Event Specialist
Introduction: The Grandest Stage Returns with a Legendary Twist
WrestleMania is more than just an event—it’s a cultural phenomenon, a spectacle that transcends sports entertainment. And in 2025, WWE is taking us back to where one of the most controversial and talked-about WrestleManias took place: WrestleMania IX.
Originally held on April 4, 1993, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, WrestleMania IX was a spectacle like no other. Roman gladiators, togas, and an open-air stadium under the Nevada sky set the stage for a night of unforgettable moments—both celebrated and criticized. Now, over three decades later, WWE is revisiting this iconic event with a modern twist, promising a live online extravaganza that blends nostalgia with cutting-edge production.
In this exclusive preview, we’ll break down everything you need to know about WrestleMania IX Becoming a Spectacle 2025, from the confirmed matches and returning legends to the revolutionary online viewing experience. Strap in, because this is going to be one wild ride.
Chapter 1: The Legacy of WrestleMania IX – Why It Still Matters
Before diving into the 2025 spectacle, we must revisit the original WrestleMania IX—an event that remains one of the most polarizing in WWE history.
The Good, The Bad, and The Bizarre
- The Setting: The Roman coliseum aesthetic was a bold choice, making it one of the most visually unique WrestleManias ever.
- Hulk Hogan’s Shocking Return: After Yokozuna defeated Bret Hart for the WWE Championship, Hogan stormed the ring, challenged Yokozuna on the spot, and won the title in 22 seconds—a moment that still sparks debate.
- Undercard Gems: Matches like Shawn Michaels vs. Tatanka and The Steiner Brothers vs. The Headshrinkers delivered solid action, even if the main event overshadowed them.
Why WrestleMania IX Deserves a Redo
Many fans believe WrestleMania IX was ahead of its time—an experimental spectacle that didn’t fully land. In 2025, WWE has the chance to reimagine it with today’s star power, storytelling, and production values.
Chapter 2: WrestleMania IX 2025 – What We Know So Far
The Venue & Presentation
While the original was held outdoors at Caesars Palace, the 2025 event will take place at the state-of-the-art WWE ThunderDome VR Arena, blending live-action with augmented reality (AR) elements to recreate the Roman gladiator atmosphere.
Fans watching online will have multiple camera angles, interactive polls, and real-time social media integration, making this the most immersive WrestleMania yet.
Confirmed Matches & Dream Scenarios
While WWE is keeping some surprises under wraps, here’s what’s been teased:
1. The Redemption Main Event: Bret Hart vs. Yokozuna (Legends Rematch)
- The Story: Bret Hart never got his rightful WrestleMania moment after Hogan swooped in. Now, in a cinematic no-DQ match, Bret gets his revenge—this time with no outside interference.
- Special Guest Referee: Hulk Hogan (with strict orders to stay out of the ring).
2. The Ultimate Fantasy Warfare: Roman Reigns vs. Hulk Hogan (AR Simulation)
- Using cutting-edge AI and motion capture, WWE will simulate a dream match between the Tribal Chief and The Immortal One, with fans voting on the outcome.
3. The Women’s Evolution Showcase: Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley (Gladiator Rules Match)
- A brutal, weapon-filled brawl inspired by ancient Roman combat, with Shayna Baszler as the special enforcer.
4. The Tag Team Gauntlet: Steiner Bros. vs. The Usos vs. DIY vs. AOP
- A high-octane tribute to the tag team excellence of WrestleMania IX, featuring legends and new-school stars.
5. The Undertaker’s Final Farewell (In a Roman Chariot)
- The Deadman returns for one last ride—literally. Expect pyro, holograms, and a spectacular send-off befitting his legacy.
Chapter 3: The Online Experience – How to Watch & What Makes It Special
WrestleMania IX 2025: A Hybrid Event
Unlike any WrestleMania before it, this event will be streamed globally with interactive features, including:
- Choose Your Own Commentary: Switch between Jim Ross, Pat McAfee, and even a retro Bobby Heenan option.
- Live Fan Voting: Influence match stipulations in real time.
- VR Backstage Access: Explore the virtual locker rooms with WWE superstars via Meta Quest 3.
Where to Watch
- Peacock (U.S.)
- WWE Network (International)
- YouTube PPV (Select Regions)
Exclusive Merch & NFTs
- Limited-edition toga-inspired gear and virtual collectibles tied to the event.
Chapter 4: Predictions & Bold Claims
- Bret Hart Finally Gets His WrestleMania Moment – After 32 years, The Hitman walks out victorious.
- A Shocking Return – Could it be Stone Cold? The Rock? WWE loves surprises.
- The Birth of a New Gimmick – Someone will debut a gladiator persona that sticks.
Final Thoughts: Why WrestleMania IX 2025 Could Be the Best Yet
WrestleMania IX was flawed but unforgettable. Now, with modern WWE’s resources, this reimagined spectacle has the potential to be a masterpiece. Whether you’re a longtime fan who remembers the original or a new viewer looking for a revolutionary experience, WrestleMania IX Becoming a Spectacle 2025 is must-see entertainment.
Mark your calendars. The gladiators return. The legends rise again. And this time, history won’t repeat itself—it will be rewritten.

Very good show
I think his Ic run being so long hurt him as a credible world champion. It’s like he fought all the same guys and crushed them for a mid card belt now we are supposed to believe they are an actual challenge to him as a world champion? Lol when they took the intercontinental title off of him they should have moved him to SmackDown and put a new list of challengers in front of him. And moved Cody and the WWE championship to raw
Very good episode,
imagine being deluded enough to think a multi billion dollar company with guys who literally have wrestling in their blood hot shoted a heel turn storyline because they booked themselves into a corner. are you serious dude? that is the most ridiculous thing i have read in a minute lol. good luck bro.
Great episode.
Punk/Cody was there for the taking and Cena could’ve gone up against Gunther.
They knee jerked a heel turn because they booked themselves into a nepotism corner
Very good show
honestly don’t get the hate. like sure, there’s no major story here YET. But Punk/Rollins/Reigns has a lot of potential to be a high quality match. I’m legit looking forward to it and love that these three have wound up in a match together.
Great episode.
The triple threat match between them at Wrestlemania is gonna be awesome. Super stoked for this match
Great show
Let’s mention the women’s match in every live/hate challenge. Easiest task for this group of “journalists” ever. Each one of these love/hates are more embarrassing than the last. We get it, women’s wrestling is amazing and should main event every show and if a women’s match is bad it’s because where it is on the card or the booking it’s never the talent, all the women are top tier wrestlers.
Very good show
You wanna find out who the real simps and shills are? Mark down anybody who defends that main event match! Even the diehard AEW fans are crapping on that main event. It was terrible.
This Moxley stuff is stinking out the entire show and the dude seems to think he is Brock Lesnar.
The sad part is that this wasn’t a terrible show overall and with all things taken into an account. But at the end of the day, a bad ending can ruin a whole show for a lot of people. “Game of Thrones season 8” style.
Great show
So the crux of it all is that the PLE started strong…then ended with a sour belch.
The fans most remember how you left them and the fans are going to remember this show with a resounding “bleh”!
And any casual fan who watched with their buddies who are more diehard fans, may have left the viewing saying aloud, “That guy was pretty good. He should go to WWE”.
Great show.
I’ve said before but I think one of the issues here is that Tony is a massive fan of NJPW and often looks to emulate their PPV card structure. NJPW cards typically build to a climax with the big matches back to back and tend not to feature cool down matches or spots. Problem is western audiences haven’t been conditioned for that over the last 40 years, so often results in burnout. Personally I would have laid out the card like below giving breathing spaces, opening with the Steel Cage match and building to the Hollywood Ending as the main event.
Storm vs. May
Mox vs. Cope
Hangman vs. MJF
Hurt Syndicate vs. Outrunners
Takeshita vs. Omega
Swerve vs. Ricochet
Okada vs. King
Mone vs. Watanabe
Ospreay vs. Fletcher
Great episode.
Very good show, but the ending is what people remember. WWE ended Elimination Chamber with a huge heel turn. AEW ended Revolution with that abominable ending.
it doesn’t totally undo a great show, but it might have done more harm than good.
Very good show
I can already see Trips the mark statues, Trips the mark with a 20 minutes speech, the camera focusing onTrips the mark every 30 seconds when he is on the crowd.
Great show.
I’m glad they are bringing it back to a nice venue. The idea of hosting it immediately after Smackdown is insane. Why not put a highlight show or broadcast the Hall of Fame instead of airing Smackdown that week.
best of the best
Very good show tonight
