Here are the highlights and results from AEW Rampage on June 2, 2023:
El Hijo del Vikingo defeated Dralistico and Komander to retain the AAA Mega Championship. Vikingo put on a show, showcasing his incredible athleticism and high-flying moves. He eventually won the match with a top rope hurricanrana.
Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Action Andretti to retain the NJPW World Television Championship. Sabre Jr. is a master of technical wrestling, and he showed it off in this match. He used a variety of submissions to wear down Andretti, eventually forcing him to tap out.
Willow Nightingale defeated Emi Sakura to retain the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship. Nightingale is a rising star in women’s wrestling, and she showed her potential in this match. She defeated Sakura with a powerbomb, becoming the first woman to successfully defend the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship.
Katsuyori Shibata defeated Lee Moriarty to retain the ROH Pure Championship. Shibata is a legend in Japanese wrestling, and he showed why he’s still one of the best in the world. He defeated Moriarty with a stiff knee strike, retaining the ROH Pure Championship.
In addition to the matches, there were also a few other segments on the show. Jeff Jarrett appeared backstage and announced that he will be hosting a 10-man tag team match on the June 7th edition of Dynamite. The match will feature The Acclaimed, The Gunn Club, and Max Caster against Hook, Danhausen, Orange Cassidy, and Wheeler Yuta.
AEW Rampage was a great show that featured some great matches and segments. It was a great way to kick off the week, and it will be interesting to see what happens on Dynamite next week.
