DID YOU ENJOY AEW DYNAMITE ON SEPTEMBER 27TH 2023?
AEW is in a great place right now.
So many candidates who could hold the belt and bring the company back into the spotlight. King Switch, Swerve, Jeff Jarrett, an Adam Cole betrayal, or MJF can hold onto it. We eating good
That was a really interesting episode of Dynamite.
It was super heavy on angles and promos. I wouldn’t want to see that every week but it’s cool every once in a while.
Roddy is faking,
cole was labelled a liar by the righteous and after spending increased time with roddy is now in an ott cast talking about ligaments and yatta yatta… hes workin. The devils were adam cole and the kingdom. Jay even took responsibility for putting cole out making him the target
Someone at TBS needs to get fired
for those audio issues. Almost the whole show and they didn’t even happen on the FITE feed so they weren’t even on AEW’s side. Just completely amateur from TBS there.
The show itself was pretty good but the audio issues kept distracting me throughout the show. Even if I have to say the Christian promo was funnier for it.
If I’m at AEW,
doesn’t matter if I’m a face or a heel, main eventer or a jobber, I would be on my hands and knees BEGGING Paul Wight to manage me so we could make silly segments together.
Two great promo battles in this show along with a slew of solid matches made for a great Dynamite.
I’m honestly shocked TK pulled the trigger on Jay vs MJF already but man am I so happy to see it. Jay has been killing it with both the in ring stuff and comedy over on Collision but now he finally got a chance to fully show off his mic work and delivered. I watched live Jay win the IWGP title back from Okada when I got back into wrestling last year so this feels like a nice full circle feud for me. Presuming this is for Full Gear, I’m so ready for a big feud with these two guys at the heart of it.
Stoked for MJF/Jay White and Swerve/Hangman.
I have always been high on MJF but being able to flip on a dime with needing to drop a storyline as prominent as Better Than You Bay Bay like that is awesome stuff.
Hear me out and this is gonna be stupid
I know its not MJF at the end by the size of that guy’s ass. That’s not MJF’s size.
segment was fucking awesome
That contract signing segment was fucking awesome I popped huge when Swerve said “what’s a cowboy to an outlaw? what’s a buckshot to a killshot?” 🔥🔥🔥
Swerve vs Hangman
Feels wild to say on a PPV that has Danielson vs ZSJ, but I’m buying Wrestledream for Swerve vs Hangman
Not gonna lie,
my first impression was that the attack on Jay White backstage felt really out of place.
Until I realized that clearly wasn’t MJF wearing the devil mask. Now I’m hooked on this mystery.
That episode felt like
That episode felt like the start of something special
That felt like RAW back in 1998.
And I mean that as a total compliment. Great episode tonight!
Mustafa Ali gets released…
Retribution shows up on AEW… Coincidence? I think not.
Letting it simmer,
I liked the promo battle between White and MJF. MJF won but it really felt like he blew his load on trying to look pass Jay White. Even tried to bury him as bland.
White could have gone as low but he keeps his gaze fixated on the title. He keeps his promo focused with the task at hand while MJF, again, is given 10 minutes of trying to tear down a character. And Jay White eats it up by basically going “yeah, and? That’s still not stopping me from getting that title. ” White really seemed to be holding back, like he wanted to see what kinda ammo MJF was packing. It’s really good on both parties. I can’t wait for their next one.
Dynamite been great, but this is the first Dynamite that felt special in a bit.
The Hangman/Swerve feud feels like it could last for years and be a huge part of their legacies and AEW going forward. The MJF/Switchblade promo was 2 greats locking horns on top of an already great story.
The 3-way for contender with Nick Jackson winning was also great as well as Julia’s fight with Willow which was no jobber match that finally gave the time to them and both looked great.
AEW has some really special stories brewing lately and if Wrestledream is the start of a new era, it’s build up already has it feeling special.
Jay White
I legit thought that was Retribution attacking Jay White at the end lol.
MJF, Hangman, Swerve and Jay,
these are the 4 men the company should revolve around in this new era of aew.
AEW has a weird and amazing habit
Of Making their weakest cards their best shows. It’s to the point where I get excited when folks complain.
Hangman said he beat Mox
when Hangman said he beat Mox in a Texas Deathmatch while looking straight at Renee.
MJF, Jay White, Swerve, Hangman.
The oldest is 32. Build around that group + Cole, Darby, and Starks and the future is bright af
Adam Cole and MJF
At every point this far, Adam Cole and MJF have subverted every expectation about their team up. So it would genuinely amuse me, right, if Adam Cole is going around being a sneaky masked murder man with the Undesputed Kingdom and MJF finds out about it and is like DUDE YOU TOOK OUT MY ENEMIES FOR ME THAT’S SO COOL. GOOD WORK.
Man, that did it for me
I was marking out for that promo battle with MJF and Jay White.
Julia’s hang time and perfect landing.
Also, let’s pause a moment and give some props to that Willow-Hart match. Both nailed it and that moonsault was one of the best I have ever seen. Especially with Willow being that tight into that corner.
I can’t wait until we learn who was behind the attack on switchblade,
I’ve practiced saying “Awww, sunuvabitch” like JR for YEARS just for a moment like this
There’s a reason Hangman’s my favorite wrestler.
Can’t wait for Sunday after this show. Do we think that was MJF in the mask? Or is it someone pretending to be him?
Damn is AEW Siouxsie and the Banshees?
Cause this main event scene is some very entertaining Post-Punk.
I get the feeling that it wasn’t actually MJF in that devil mask…
That was an excellent episode of Dynamite. So many storylines going full speed into Wrestledream, which is looking to be an all-time PPV.
Rare Dynamite cliffhanger ending.
The whole show was fire. We MIGHT be back folks.
Tony needs to capitalize on them.
There’s not enough talk about that Hart/Willow matchup in the Reviews…those two put on a great match.
Woah, we saw Hangman stab a guy.
Also he was definitely referencing Punk when he talked about the “black cloud” for the last 18 months, right?
. I am in.
Julia Hart is on the rocketship to the top
Adam Cole, Roddy, & the Kingdom.
That close was absolutely Adam Cole, Roddy, & the Kingdom.
I can’t believe Orange Cassidy, Trent?,
chuck, and stat all beat up Jay white at the end and pretended to be MJF
What a fucking cliffhanger.
When was the last time Dynamite ended like this? When Don Callis told everyone to watch Impact?
Swerve, Jay White, MJF, Julia Hart, Don Callis, Serpentico, Christian
AEW might have the best collection of the most interesting evil characters in wrestling right now
that’s my cowboy
Paraphrasing here, but I really loved
“You say you would’ve been the first black AEW World Champion. . . and hopefully the future generations don’t have to ask that same question”
SOMEONE HIDE SAMOA JOE!!!
THE NINJAS ARE BACK. SOMEONE HIDE SAMOA JOE!!!
Holy shit what was that ending? No way that was MJF right?
“Whats a farmer to a mogul”
“Whats a cowboy to an outlaw”
“Whats a buckshot to a killshot”
Swerve straight cookin out there, the last few months I think I’ve finally seen what others see in Swerve. Future World Champ right there.
Hangman, Swerve, Jay and MJF all killed it tonight. Preview for the current and future of the World Title scene in AEW.
Keith Lee
Anyone think it was Keith Lee under the mask? Maybe a heel turn?
Dynamite is Austin
Lost in a great episode of Dynamite is Austin Gunn being casually one of the best performers in the company. That dude is entertaining af
I legit thought it was Cole.
That dude in the devil mask was so skinny,
Should I watch it on demand?
I had a dinner with a client and missed Dynamite.
Christian sees in Nick Wayne’s
I understand what Christian sees in Nick Wayne’s mom
cliffhanger
I love a good cliffhanger.
that was a dope episode.
We all know the wrestling will be awesome, but the segments were really good too
