AEW Rampage: September 29th, 2023 Results
An Exciting Night of Action in the Windy City
AEW Rampage returned to Chicago on September 29th, 2023, for a night of exciting action and two title matches. In the main event, The Acclaimed retained the AEW World Trios Championship against The Hardys and Brother Zay. In the other title match, Eddie Kingston successfully defended the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship against Rocky Romero.
AEW World Trios Championship Match: The Acclaimed (c) vs. The Hardys and Brother Zay
The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens, Max Caster, and Billy Gunn) entered the ring to a chorus of “Scissor Me Timbers!” chants from the crowd. The Hardys (Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy) and Brother Zay followed closely behind.
The bell rang and The Acclaimed immediately took control of the match. Bowens and Caster double-teamed Zay, hitting him with a series of quick-fire moves. Gunn then tagged in and hit Zay with a devastating Fameasser.
The Hardys eventually got into the match and began to turn the tide. Matt hit Gunn with a Twist of Fate and Jeff hit Bowens with a Whisper in the Wind. The Hardys then hit Gunn with a double team Swanton Bomb, but Bowens broke up the pin attempt.
The match continued to go back and forth with both teams trading blows. In the end, it was The Acclaimed who emerged victorious. Bowens and Caster hit Zay with their signature double team inverted powerbomb to retain the AEW World Trios Championship.
NJPW Strong Openweight Championship Match: Eddie Kingston (c) vs. Rocky Romero
Eddie Kingston entered the ring for the defense of his NJPW Strong Openweight Championship against Rocky Romero. The two men shook hands before the bell rang.
The match started off slowly with both men feeling each other out. Kingston and Romero exchanged a series of technical holds and counters.
Kingston eventually took control of the match, using his power and strength to overwhelm Romero. Kingston hit Romero with a series of chops and punches, knocking him to the ground.
Romero refused to give up and eventually fought back. He hit Kingston with a series of kicks and a dropkick, sending him out of the ring.
Romero then followed Kingston to the outside and hit him with a suicide dive. Kingston was stunned, but he quickly recovered and hit Romero with a powerbomb on the apron.
The match continued to go back and forth with both men trading blows. In the end, it was Kingston who emerged victorious. He locked Romero in his signature Stretch Plum submission move and forced him to tap out.

Analysis
AEW Rampage on September 29th, 2023, was a great night of action with two exciting title matches. The main event match between The Acclaimed and The Hardys and Brother Zay was a fast-paced and action-packed affair. The Acclaimed retained their titles, but they were pushed to the limit by their challengers.
The NJPW Strong Openweight Championship match between Eddie Kingston and Rocky Romero was a technical and hard-hitting match. Kingston retained his title, but he was given a serious run for his money by Romero.
