NJPW World Tag League 2023: Night 11 Recap

On December 3rd, New Japan Pro-Wrestling continued their World Tag League tour with their eleventh night of action from the Akurei Himeji in Hyogo, Japan. The main event saw TMDK (Mikey Nicholls and Shane Haste) take on Ren Narita and Shota Umino, while other notable matches included BULLET CLUB (Taiji Ishimori, Bad Luck Fale, and Jack Bonza) facing Just Five Guys (Yuya Uemura, Taichi, and DOUKI), Tiger Mask, El Soberano Jr., and Atlantis Jr. taking on Guerrillas of Destiny (Hikuleo, El Phantasmo, and Jado), and Minoru Suzuki, Yuji Nagata, and Master Wato squaring off against YOSHI-HASHI, Hirooki Goto, and Tomoaki Honma.

Callum Newman def. Shoma Kato

This was a solid opening match that showcased the talent of two young up-and-comers. Newman, in particular, looked impressive with his high-flying offense and technical skills. He picked up the win with a moonsault that Kato couldn’t get out of.

BULLET CLUB (Bad Luck Fale, Taiji Ishimori & Jack Bonza) def. Just Five Guys (Yuya Uemura, Taichi & DOUKI)

This was an entertaining tag team match that saw BULLET CLUB use their size and power advantage to control the majority of the action. Just Five Guys fought back valiantly, but they were ultimately no match for the combined might of Fale, Ishimori, and Bonza. Ishimori pinned Uemura with the Bone Lock to give BULLET CLUB the victory.

Tiger Mask, Atlantis Jr. & Soberano Jr. def. Guerrillas of Destiny (Hikuleo, El Phantasmo & Jado)

This was a fast-paced and exciting match that saw two generations of lucha libre icons collide with the young and hungry Guerrillas of Destiny. The match was back and forth with both teams having their chances to win. In the end, it was Tiger Mask who picked up the pin on Hikuleo with a Tiger Suplex to give his team the victory.

Minoru Suzuki, Yuji Nagata & Master Wato def. YOSHI-HASHI, Hirooki Goto & Tomoaki Honma

This was a hard-hitting and physical match that saw Suzuki, Nagata, and Wato bring their signature brutality to the ring. YOSHI-HASHI, Goto, and Honma fought back gamely, but they were eventually overwhelmed by the veteran trio. Suzuki pinned YOSHI-HASHI with the Gotch-Style Piledriver to give his team the win.

TMDK (Mikey Nicholls & Shane Haste) def. Ren Narita & Shota Umino

This was the match of the night and a true clash of styles. The high-flying Narita and Umino took on the hard-hitting Nicholls and Haste in a back-and-forth war. The match went down to the wire, but it was ultimately TMDK who picked up the victory when Haste pinned Narita with a tombstone piledriver. This was a big win for TMDK as they moved into first place in their block.

Overall, Night 11 of the World Tag League was a great success and delivered several exciting and memorable matches. The tournament is now heating up and the stakes are getting higher with each passing night. Fans can look forward to more great action in the coming weeks as the World Tag League heads towards its conclusion.
