John Cena Reveals Night One Attendance for WWE WrestleMania 42
WWE legend John Cena has officially unveiled the crowd count for the opening night of WrestleMania 42.
Serving as the host for the two-night spectacle, this marks Cena’s first major on-screen role since his retirement from in-ring competition—which came via a submission defeat at the hands of Gunther last December. During the Saturday night broadcast, Cena was given the task of announcing the highly anticipated (and heavily speculated) attendance figure for the second consecutive “Showcase of the Immortals.”
Addressing the swirling rumors and online chatter regarding ticket sales head-on, Cena defended the event’s turnout by hyping the energy inside the venue. He then dropped the final, official number: 50,816.

For context, the previous year’s WrestleMania Saturday drew an announced crowd of 61,467, although the Stadium Authority later revised that figure to 58,538. The report notes that WWE has a long-standing habit of reporting numbers that are higher than independent estimates.
According to the latest pre-show data from WrestleTix (logged just six hours before Cena’s announcement), approximately 50,386 tickets had been distributed out of a configured capacity of 51,708. In a related move to push sales, WWE’s Pat McAfee had announced a 25% discount on tickets for WrestleMania Saturday roughly two weeks prior—one of several last-minute deals offered for the event.
