Rhea Ripley Overthrows Jade Cargill’s Reign in Chaotic Title Clash
Las Vegas, NV – WrestleMania 42 (April 20, 2026) – The “Nightmare” is once again a champion.
In a stunning, interference-heavy war, Rhea Ripley pinned the seemingly invincible Jade Cargill to capture the WWE Women’s Championship, thanks to a high-risk assist from Iyo Sky.
The Entrance Theater
Cargill walked alone, no Baddies in sight, draped in a floor-length gold robe that screamed empress. Ripley answered in torn leather and mesh—commentator Michael Cole called it “a straightjacket of pure rage,” a nod to the paranoid, unhinged version of herself this feud had unleashed.
Match Flow – Brutality & Betrayal
From the bell, they traded power moves like heavyweight boxers. Ripley caught a kick, Cargill reversed into a suplex. The first near-fall came after Cargill’s rebound powerslam, but Ripley kicked out at 2.9.
Then Cargill turned vicious—yanking Ripley throat-first across the middle rope, then hammering her with elbows on the floor. The ref’s count hit six before Ripley crawled back in.
The Baddies Strike
Mid-match, Michin and B-Fab emerged from the crowd, distracting the official while Cargill drilled Ripley with a low blow (hidden from the ref). Cargill followed with an Electric Chair Driver—Cole called it “Sandstorm,” a direct homage to Kenny Omega’s One-Winged Angel. Ripley barely survived the pin.
Sky’s Moonshot Moment
As Cargill wound up a running bicycle kick, Iyo Sky sprinted down the ramp. Cargill hesitated—just enough for Sky to leap off the apron into a picture-perfect moonsault onto both Baddies on the floor.
With the playing field cleared, Ripley dodged Jaded (Cargill’s finisher), reversed a second attempt, and finally nailed Riptide in the center of the ring.
Three seconds later: new champion.
Aftermath
Ripley grabbed the title, stared down a seething Cargill, then raised the belt alongside Sky as the Vegas crowd erupted. Cargill retreated up the ramp, yelling at her Baddies for failing her.
“She wanted to rule alone,” Ripley said in a backstage whisper. “Now she’s alone and beaten.”
